If larsson starts in the AHL, I think Cody could be playing center.

One thing that never seems to be brought up is the fact that we are going to lose a lot of games this year. I remember hearing an interview with Taylor Hall a few months ago and he said that the incredible amount of losing that they did was completely demoralizing to the young core. There isn't any reason that any of the kids should be here for at least the first half of the season.

Agreed, broads. Love the kid's hustle.

As Buddy Nix might say, "we like heez motor".

- grand-magus

He's got some talent too.

I think during the scrimmage he made a few nifty plays. Looks like a decent bottom 6 speed guy

On a side note, Dan Catenacci should be one of the 1st injury call ups this year
- sbroads24

Once we get to the deadline and Stewart & Stafford get traded (most likely), he's a guy I'd like to see up here
He plays Ted Nolan type hockey, and is probably the fastest skater we have in our system
In time, I could see him being a faster Steve Ott

I get what everyone is saying. Protect the kids from losing.

But you have to introduce a few kids each year. You can't just throw 10 kids into the lineup in two years and say, "ok, everybody, go win now". Keeping Reinhart away may seem like it makes sense, but what if we are able to draft McEichel next year? Now we're going to throw two rookie centers into the fire? That may be more detrimental than allowing Reinhart to just play this year, even if he lacks some strength.

Tim Murray brought in these veterans for a reason, and it wasn't because he wanted to make a march to 9th place. It was to show the kids how to be professionals. To show them that, when they do lose, not to get too down; don't go into prolonged slumps; don't - as Hall said - allow it to demoralize them. That's not going to happen by keeping all the kids away.

Edmonton had no good veterans, that's what their problems were. It wasn't because their kids weren't ready, skill-wise or mentally. It was, "okay, we've lost 6 games in a row. Now what? Boy, do I wish I had a Brian Gionta or a Josh Gorges to ask a question to, or look to for guidance".

If Tim thinks Sam or Mikhail are ready, then awesome. If not, fine. But people need to stop writing these kids off after a damn scrimmage and a few practices.

Neither did Kane, or Ennis, or RNH.

And, fwiw, the post I was responding to mentioned losing.

Ennis didn't play when he was 18. RNH was beat up his first year and missed 20 games, since he was not physically ready. And Kane was on a different level than RNH, ennis, and reinhart.

This comparing prospects to other prospects either on our team (Grigorenko and being sent back to juniors) or other teams (guys listed above) needs to stop. EVERY SINGLE PLAYER develops differently.

This judging a player because of 1 scrimmage in July is pointless. Just like people posting JGL should be given a look because he played well in a scrimmage when anyone who watched more than a scrimmage can tell you he is not NHL material (it also doesn't hurt that he was one of the older guys out there that doesn't have NHL experience).

Reinhart got laid out by Girgensons, its not like he got laid out by Varone. I know its a slow time of the year in here but if we are nitpicking this already the next 2 years are going to be awful.

Ennis wasn't a #2 pick, either.

RNH didn't have anyone to take any heat off him, except for more kids.

Reinhart isn't going to become Mark Messier in one year. He'll put some muscle on, sure, but he isn't going to turn into Lou Ferrigno over the next 12 months.

There's enough muscle on this team to take some heat off the kid. Stop acting like he has the physique of a 12 year old girl.

His brains are going to keep him out of trouble in many situations.

But it's not up to me. Or you.

Whatever Murray thinks is fine.

Zadarov needs juniors more than Reinhart IMO

I'll be fine either way, but like you said it's not like he's going to change much in a year, he's smart enough to avoid the uneccessary hits

Ennis spent all his time in Junior plus 1 1/2 years in the AHL. because he was not physically ready . What other teams do or who they deem ready does not concern us . Maybe all of RNH 's little injuries are a result of not being physically ready ? All I am concerned with is his physical readiness . I don't care about the losing thing but it is something to be considered.

Agreed.

Zadorov has some Cory Sarich/Brayden McNabb to him. Sometimes looking for the big hit isn't the right play. He's going to be a good one, though.

That will be Zadorov's biggest learning. Knowing when to go for the big hit. He is a much better skater than McNabb and Sarich. Just need to smarten him up a bit and he will be really really good
