He'll get his 9 games and go back to juniors. Nolan's & TM's business model is not the same as RR & Darcy's. You only acknowledge half of what they say and ignore the rest, the but.....

We will . They key is - Is he ready ? Physically , mentally and skill set. If not there is no reason to keep him up here and waste a year of his entry level deal . Hopefully the Grigorenko fiasco has taught us that he should not be here unless he deserves to be here. Lots of free agents out there we can sign for one year to hold his roster spot for him.

In Tim and Ted I trust !

Grigorenko will probably be here permanently before Samson.

I think he goes back as well. I think that move (at least short term) makes fiscal sense too. Keeps him on the ELC for a year later into the rebuild, possibly while we are real competitors ( that 3rd season) which allows us to pick up a better fa or TD helper if we want. Plus I think he could still learn more about leading and winning in jrs and the WJC

Unless the Sabres are miraculously in a playoff run, there's a possibility that the Sabres would let him play in the World Juniors regardless, the way Tampa let Brett Connolly play.

That would be disappointing IMO, but you could be right.

It looks like Reinhart could be in juniors next yr, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Grig-0 make the jump at the trade deadline next season.

How about sending him back to Jrs at the start of the regular season, then bring him up for his nine game stint after the trade deadline...that way you keep the extralegal year of ELC while giving him a sense of what he needs to do physically over the summer before the next training camp.

I don't think you can do that. Once you send them down, they can't come back up to the big club until their Jr team's season is over. I know back in the day you could (i.e. Marty Biron) but I'm farily certain you can't do that anymore.

Are the Sabres not concerned about Left Wing? We have one 3rd line LW'er

They actually have 2 LW right now that will for sure be on the club. Foligno and Moulson. I'm not quite sure what wing Flynn was playing on last year because NHL.com has him listed as a center. The same can be said for a few guys.

I think Marty Biron's was an emergency exemption. They had about four different goaltenders injured at that point.

Side note: he should have kept # 00.

NHL would not let him , I remember him saying in an interview the NHL made it taboo next time he came up.

Give him his 10 games (spread them out a bit). Let him wear the C for Canada for the World Jr Tournement and go from there.

I guess you cannot use 0 or 00 as a number. They used to say just 0 was a no no . But Marty or Sabres equipment guy figured he could get around it by using 00. They revised it after he used 00.

Question: do the games count against your 9 if you are the press box? If not maybe they could do that and let him practice with the team for a while then send him back while he gets like every third game in the PB

Sabres could have 8-10 prospects playing in this upcoming World Jr Championship! How awesome is that to look forward to during the Holidays!!

It is exciting. It's also gonna be fun to pay attention to juniors this year.

Even college hockey will have rooting interest with Hurley, Fasching, and Compher

Won't Hodgson be on the LW?
