Yeah, to people who live in the North and are fine with having lots of space, it's a nice afternoon ride.

Maybe a place in the foothills sure.. It mostly depends on where you grew up and what you prefer. There's more wealthy people in Muskoka (in the summer) than anywhere in AB. It's just a different culture out here. People are all cut front the same cloth and tend not to focus too much on family life. I rarely meet any young albertan guys in the patch, it's all easterners, mostly Ontarians.

Jasper isn't near Edm either... But when there's not much in between it really isn't that far.

So we have ,Turris,leg ,Zbad and Smith,with potenially JGP and lazar.And we need another center?Also we have cowen ,ceci,weircoch,boro,phillips,ek,gryba,and methot and we need another defenseman??Yep we need vinny and delzotto,it will make our team complete

Well, I think the thing is, that list is pretty much full of some pretty junk hockey players. No first line centre there. A pile of centres and Dman that should either retire, or be relegated to the AHL. So, it’s not that you need more centres, you need to upgrade the crap you have.

Most Alberta guys that work with their hands are in construction as opposed to the patch. Plenty of good trade work in Edmonton and Calgary if your willing to apprentice....nice to see your wife and kids every night too.

Those millions may not have experienced anything outside of ONT... but its true- there are many ONT people moving out west due to ONT being economically in a place it wont see daylight for years to come...

Well I make more than my boss, not sure if want a white collar job here.. I make more in the field. My aunt owns an investment firm in Calgary in the encana tower. I know how much money flows thru this province

i think everyone needs to take a chill pill on the whole stamkos thing. is it possible that he returns to toronto in two years? absolutely, however just basing these things off of a couple of favorites tweets is not sufficient evidence. frankly as a lightning fan i could see him returning to toronto, but a lot of things need to be taken into consideration. i think we will all have to wait until next summer to truly see because at that time stamkos and the lightning can begin to negotiate on a new contract. the lightning a will no doubt offer him the max, he's worth it and they've proven they will pay to the cap. if stamkos doesn't have a new contract by the start of the 2015-16 season then i will say he will return to toronto. unfortunately for everyone we are just going to have to wait another year.

Albertans are so racist towards leafs fans hahaha.. They always mute the TV when the leafs highlights are on. Just the way they were raised. Hate Ontario hate hate hate!!!
But enough about all this, people are ignorant everywhere you go. Both places are better than The US so I'm not complaining.

I think, for many reasons, they’ve become among the worst destinations of any NHL team. Can’t really offer up much $$$ to players. And if they do to one player, that player knows that they won’t offer it up to other players, so the team will never compete. Not a very attractive city to young millionaires. High taxes relative to most NHL teams. One of the worst climates, aside from Edmonton and Winnipeg. Buffalo too maybe. I can’t see too much interest in any decent free agent going to Ottawa.
