Because there are only 35 million people in Canada , The dollar is weaker . Conservative government has made innuendo of driving it even lower to increase foreign markets for Canadian goods. Happen to own a company that does 25% of our business in Canada . Follow economics in Canada very closely . Not every Canadian dreams of coming back and playing for the Leafs . If you can provide me with some sources that show that Stamkos is leaning that way . I probably would agree with you .

I always think of yzerman, hes from canada, but he played 20 years for detroit, it just seems SOME (not all) toronto fans can not accept that a superstar wouldnt beg to play for toronto. Sure some players want to go there, and yes stamkos contract is coming up soon, but why is it that some of these fans feel almost entitled to every superstar? why is it like outside of the realm of possible he loves tampa, and might want to stay there? just seems absurd to point at everyone else likt they are wrong, when EVERYTHING WE TALK ABOUT ON HERE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A RUMOR....

Why is the economy seem to be failing in Ontario ? They unemployment numbers have not been good . Watch CBC or CTV news quite often . Travel up there at least once a month and small business owners I know in numerous fields are not happy with the economy.

Leafs fans think like that because we miss Sundin.. At least with Mats we made the playoffs almost every year. Tons and tons of great exceptional hockey players come out of Souhtern Ontario.. Why would Cleveland want Lebron to play in Cleveland. Fans feel a connection to local boys and obviously want them to play in TO.
