The $$ opportunities in TO by far outweigh any money he saves from taxes. We talked about this a couple days ago. The differential between FL on ON aren't much different. Like 250,000 for every 5mil or something.

There has to be some contracts they'd like to move out? The Leafs can afford to take on a contract TBL doesn't want.

I'd be looking for Slater Koekkoek, another prospect and a 1st back at the minimum for Phaneuf + salary relief for TBL in some capacity

Tampa got rid of the contracts they didn't want already. Anyone with money and term were just signed. Could only see Carle and Brewer as being potentially moved off the roster in a trade to free up money. With Brewer entering the last year of his deal and Carle having four more and moving Brewer wouldn't free up enough money for Phaneuf I think it'd have to be Carle going back.
