I dont think hes any elite d man, I also dont think he would ever get moved here both because of division and the lack of assets we would trade for him, but i really dont understand why everyone thinks he has 0 value.

Most people who bash him don't think he doesn't have value.

It's just when you factor in his short comings along with the hefty cap hit he has it makes him a lot less desirable. As a player he has value, He's a good D-man. Unfortunately it's just when you put everything together the player he is gets overshadowed by other things.

I think this makes sense. Since in '16 Stamkos is gonna be a Leaf, Leafs think they should at least send something TB's way to compensate, albeit early. And with the addition of #3 on their backend, TB will be way compensated with 2-3 lottery picks.

he does have a bad contract and after watching him play last year he doesn't seem to play with much passion
