I would take him over Weber
- Stripes77

Completely agree .....weber has run his course in Buf....if he makes it I expect this to be his last in Blue and Gold......

Not sure the hawks wish to move Odd ya...but if available I'd make the move.....Boston is said to be interested in dealing Boychuk he is solid, block a lot of shots and hits....and he has one year left and could be a deadline move also.

Reinhart won't be here. He needs to stop being put in lineups.
- sambarugh

Read previous posts. This conversation is based on if Hodgson is expendable and I said IF Reinhart makes the team

I bet he's here for at least the first 9 games of the year.

Prior to the draft, Murray said he wouldn't guarantee that whoever they drafted a spot on the team.

However, after they drafted Reinhart, he said he doesn't feel that there's any benefit to sending him back as he feels he's accomplished everything he can at that level.

Go back to Junior , Play in world Juniors , Get bigger and stronger . Prospects game he was exposed . Just wait till he is playing in the league . Lots of guys love to take runs at top picks to welcome them to the league . Why expose him to potential injuries . No rush to have him here . Darn CHL - NHL transfer rule again . But Drouin benefited from going back to junior.

The Girgorenko debacle has clouded a lot of peoples minds about how to handle prospects. You also cant lump Reinhart into the same category as Grigorenko or Drouin for that matter. Each player is different.

Drouin needed to be THE guy in juniors. Reinhart has been THE guy. Yes he needs to get bigger, but if he is ready he is ready. IF and ONLY IF.

I'm not sure anyone is dying to get him...but as a piece of a larger trade I would do it....I'm not sure how I feel about him....so I'm trying to muse as to what the brass thinks.

He may do a lot better on the wing
He can score
He is good on the Pp

He is not a very good skater or fleet of foot
He is not a good center
He is lax in his own end
Makes many poor passes
5 on 5 he was invisible last year....

All and all I just don't know if he factors in their long term plans....but his contract is an issue

- aschwach

i agree with most of this. theres no reason to move him now though. if your goal is to move him, a solid season on the wing makes him much more marketable. his passing is pretty decent, and if he has a good year on the wing, his contract will look reasonable.

He is not going to be lights out. He won't next year either, even if he spends another year in junior.

That is just it . He is not ready physically . If you would have been at the prospects game you would be agreeing . No doubt he has skills . He does not have the strength or body . He got man handled at times . Why rush to have him up here and risk injury . He needs to get bigger and stronger. Grigorenko was just not ready mentally period.

No one is worried about him being lights out. The worry is can he take the pounding in the NHL. He was exposed at the prospects game physically . Is it worth risking him getting hurt ?

Reinhart was never "exposed" IMO

He got hit by the freight train known as Grigenstein

I see CoHo is the female dog of the day

they are moving him to wing and he has a much better chance of being here long term then Staff or Stewart IMO

I watched some of it. He was run over once, by Girgensons. He has never and will never be a big physical presence. He is known for his smarts and being ahead of the play. Not saying he is anywhere close to him but Gretzky was a small player, but never seen him get destroyed or man handled. The reason was he was smarter than anyone on the ice. If Reinhart shows in training camp his IQ transfers over to the speed of the NHL game he will be here.
