Lets say the Sabres don't end up with the 1st or 2nd pick in next years draft for McDavid or Eichel.
This is what I hope.
I hope Myers has a monster year that makes him the most sought after dman in the league.
If I am Tim Murray at next years draft I offer , Tyler Myers and 2 of the Sabres highest 1st round picks to whom it may concern.
McDavid and or Eichel could be ours.
Me? I would do that deal 100 times out of 100!

I wish it was that easy. I think for next years draft, either you have the 1st or 2nd or you dont. I think about the lemieux and crosby drafts and there was absolutely nothing you could trade to get that guy. The only exception I can think of was lindros, and the ridiculous haul that quebec received was only possible because he outright refused to play there.

I'm smoking a cigg outside the doors next to Sabres store currently. I'm in all black with a Heartless t-shirt on.

I'm sitting in my home office with a white button down and blue jeans. There's a smelly little stain on the shirt where some of the tatziki spilled out of my gyro at lunch.

I used to smoke, but I quit.

Whoever gets 1 & 2 next year will not trade those pick. McDavid and Eichel are supposed to be franchise cornerstones for years, and it will take even more than that to get someone to move. In fact, it would probably take some sort of coercion to make that happen.

This year's #1 was the most ripe to be moved in a long time, and even that didn't happen. These picks are even more valuable than we are led to believe.

I am at work and the stream is blocked.

The west coast makes life difficult when all of your teams are 3 time zones away. I am hoping I can get part of it when I drive after work.

I appreciate everyone's take thus far.
Just thought I'd step outside the box for a moment and see what everyone's thoughts were.
If Myers turns into what quite a few posters here think he can be ( cornerstone dman , but not me), that's a tremendous talent coupled with 2 very high 1st round picks.
I think some GM's would ponder this offer.
But that's just my opinion.
100 times out of 100 I would do this offer even if Myers has a WOWSER type of year.
We have better than average dmen in the pipeline just about ready to make the jump.
Myers is expendable in my opinion.

I see the idea of why it could work, but I don't think he has shown the consistency to prove that he can have a WOWSER year, moving forward. Is it one good year, 3.5 bad years and then another good year? I think that alone would make it tough, without the players being who they are.

Other than being drafted in the 1st round of the same draft, I don't think you could possibly find 2 guys more different.
- HonkFortheGoose

They are different in style of play but Grigorenko is the more offensively gifted. Also people stop being down on Grigs guys been playing with Girgs, Scott, McCormick and Tropp. No one would produce with those line mates. And don't freak out about me putting Girgs on that list because the guy had only 20 some points.

I am under the impression that any player in the top 7-10 would be a game changer, so I don't think it's necessary.

What would make that worse, is if it's the Leafs or Sens.

- thatsapickle

Players like Eichel and McDavid come with Stanley Cups already destined in there future so yes it would be necessary if it came down to that.

I think more teams will be cheering and hoping for losses. So it could be more difficult than last year to be the "worst-of-the-worst"
