I'd rather have him be the 7th D man here then have him do the same old thing in Juniors... I do see him going to Juniors but I don't think he deserves it.. The kid needs to be playing against men.

IMO he needs another year. But id be fine with keeping him up. Best thing I can say about Zads is you dont notice him thoughout most of the game.

The 2 way contract only means that a guy gets paid less if he's sent to the AHL than if he's with the NHL club. They can still be sent down.

Ruhwedel hasn't played enough games in Buffalo or too many in Rochester to have to clear waivers as far as I know, so he could get sent down. He'll just be receiving the same paycheck no matter what team he's on.

Waiver exemption is what I'm talking about. But fair point.

There's no point in keeping him here as a 7th guy. How is he going to learn sitting in the pressbox? He needs to get consistency into his game and he can't do that if he's not playing regularly. Since he's not eligible for the AHL yet, he should be sent back to Jr.

No. The only difference between 1 way and 2 way is the amount they make which is dependent upon what team they're assigned to.

They get paid a LOT less to be in Rochester on a 2 way deal than if they're assigned there but have a 1 way contract.

If the Sabres get 2 picks in the top 5 next year, with one of them being #1, do you trade the #1 and Myers to Nashville for Weber?

I know about the difference . (1 of the few) Was just questioning the waiver part since on a 2-way they have a different pay scale for the AHL

Not sure what the real difference is (and I imagine it's negotiable), but back in an older hockey sim game I had, they paid about 15% of the total salary to players in the minors that are on a 2-way contract. Ouch.

I'm pretty sure a two way contract means you can be called up once and sent back down once without having to pass waivers... for example sabres wouldnt risk calling up a prospect to play in place of short term injury if they had to clear waivers on way back down to ahl.
I think there are some exceptiona based on ahl salary (over ~100k) and professional games played (~ 300)

Sweet thats my biggest concern. I feel that eventually we can find a skater but to acquire a starting goalie you need to give up far too much. Plus ive been so used to having the next starting goalie ready to go out of Rochester.

Maybe not...
I'm so pissed we missed out on this one!

Los Angeles Kings traded goaltender Jonathan Bernier to the Toronto Maple Leafs for forward Matt Frattin, goaltender Ben Scrivens and a second-round draft selection, the team announced Sunday.
