I have no problem giving him more chances to make up for his crap in the past, so I've never been one wanting him gone. But for as much poop as Vanek gets around here, Myers consistency isn't the greatest either.

When Myers disappears for stretches as a 28-29 year old.... Then I'll feel the same way.

I don't believe he did in the least.

Problem is this whole team has been trending towards dysfunctional since 2010. Unfortunately young players get the rough end of that during key years of their development.

- sbroads24

Just an IMO but Offensively I believe he hit his ceiling. He needs to work on being a dominate force, which I'm not sure he's capable to do.

I'm 60/40 on it. 60 for/40 against.

There are five territories there - ought to be the first place you put an army. My father, my brother and I spent lots of hours on rainy/snowy weekends battling over that part of the gameboard.
- Der Kaiser

curious, do you play the way in which you place a troop on a territory of your liking and take turns? recently ive played the way in which you dole out the shuffled territory cards to each player and thats what they start out with

So you're on the wait til his contracts almost up guy.

IMO he's got 1 at most 2 more years. He doesn't show any type of real consistent improvement, ship his ass out of town before it's a total loss.

I just wish that he would be a bit smarter about his physical play. I want him to be physical, but he has to learn to do it without getting penalized.

He was a mass murdering mother fvcker.

That said he was a genius, just used it for one of the worst things in human history.

- dadeadhead

Stalin was actually every bit the mass murdering motherfvcker Hitler was. The difference was that Stalin didn't really discriminate as much, and he ended up our ally, so he's not villainized quite as much. Not saying one was equal to the other; they both were terrible human beings.

Depends on house rules though. Some people play where you have to put troops in places based on the cards you draw, not just place 1 troop per turn
- stashu

The Card method is good for seasoned Risk players. The other way is great when your playing with a bunch of dolts.

That's how I've always played.

I also enjoyed Axis and Allies but you need a solid 4-8 hrs to play.

On the Blackhawks he's a 50 point player. He'd get 20 points in just secondary assists.

He's no different than Ehrhoff, 40-50 point player on a contending high scoring team, 20-30 point player on a bottom feeder.

Difference between the two is that Myers can take over a game and make the game breaking play.

He will never be Shea Weber who can bomb 20 goals from the point, just isn't him

Stalin was like Pol Pot, he killed his own people.

Hitler by far is the worst human being to ever roam this Earth.

He had 48pts his rookie year.

Like I said, he has already hit his ceiling offensively.

You're the guy who had Vanek as an avatar for more than 2 years, right? And "your" calling other people dolts?

Why not start strategizing from the very beginning of the game? Why determine who gets premium territories based purely upon the luck of the draw?

I was being sarcastic. If the team is better this year (as we expect they will) and Myers does nothing, I'll be done thinking he will be a good #1.

All he has to do is to continue playing how he ended the season and he will produce

I don't think he's incapable of 50+ points, but he's not doing that on this team. Like I said he's not Shea Weber

Kevin avg just over 14 goals and 42 point a year over 16 seasons.

I'd be happy with one of the group doing that.

- dadeadhead

Agree. Not (totally) ripping on KH. Just always preferred the more aggressive of the two brothers.

I'm with you, I always loved them both. Axis and Allies is such an involved game, so much fun.

Last time I played I was in elementary school I believe...and this year was my 20th HS reunion, so it's been a long time

You can make a case for anyone after Orr honestly.

For me its Orr, Lidstrom, and Pronger.

- dadeadhead

Orr is the obvious choice, after that Ray Borque comes to mind.

Look another unsolicited Vanek Reference! How clever! I'm a dolt because I like Vanek! ZiiiiiiiiiiinG! You got me!

If you have 4 seasoned pros, they all have similar strategies, teh card method makes you change your strategy on teh fly, which makes teh game a little harder.

If your playing with dolts, aka new players, you can do it the other method so that you can win and show them how your strategy works.

You and Sboads can now go IM each other to think of more Vanek references to post. The next ones should be really good.

i think its the most fair way and lucky(if you get a few great spots). Ive never played axis and allies but it already sounds fun, risk is just as long of a game anway. reminds me of the seinfeld episode

He wasn't very good in his own end.

That's why I put the other two in front of him. I have him in the top ten though.

Orr
Lidstom
Pronger
Potvin
Harvey
Stevens
Neids
Bourque
Coffey
