Nah it was supposed to be "fleetest of foot"... But Apple apparently thought otherwise

Yeah, I can tell what it meant, I don't care about typos. I just love when they come out in some funny ways. It looked like Siri putting in something incorrect

I'll rephrase.

If Zadorov can duplicate Stevens' best seasons for a solid 8 years.. I'll be a glad Gladys.

- TheSabresTaco

You're asking way to much IMO.

His best 8 seasons he averaged 14g and 64pts and spent a sh!t ton of time in the box, 179 PIM avg.

Than Stevens had?

from age 19-30 Stevens averaged 12.5g and 56pts.

Not sure Zadorov can match those totals.

- dadeadhead

I think he can..... Maybe not 19 very few D men do that anymore...but averaging 12+ I can see.... He has Pronger potential to me....not saying he is...his game still needs work.. But the potential is there

This is probably true, but I was actually think more in terms of "defensive zone play".

If Zadorov can grow into the role of defensive zone general & enforcer... He's got the makings of a top pairing crease-clearer.

But even if he's just a bigger version of Robyn Regher, that's a great fit with either Myers or Risto.

- SuperCat

He does have offensive upside though. He's gonna be a guy that either have a great game or a bad game. On the other hand, Ristolainen seems like he will be the rock on that blueline for years

What is the prognosis of signing Tallinder, Benoit, Sarich or even Butler for a 1 year contract? The Sabres still need a couple of defensemen.

Perhaps they can swin a deal with Chicago for Hjalmarson and that College prospect that is refusing to sign up with them.

Zadarov and Pysyk looked like a good future 2nd or 3rd pair

Yeah I feel some forget how good he was at a young age. He was just reckless. From 30 on up he only saw 2 seasons where he was in the box for 100+ mins and they were 100 and 103.

IMO Zadorov does have that Pronger lite to him. Just not willing to put lofty goals/expectations on these young players.

first round d men should be top 4, not a 3rd pair

if they do not show top 4 potential, move them

you could make a case that he belongs on the list of 3 best NHL d men of all time

I only noticed a few things from Pysyk and they were pretty much all just short little outlet passes. But that's what his forte is. His highest ceiling is a #2 guy. But I think he's really going to be a 3/4 guy. Probably about 20 mins a night. 1st PK unit, 2nd PP unit.

Many nights we'll end up wondering if he even played, but that's just his game. He's not flashy, but he gets the job done.

He has the talent, I'm not sure that he will be a consistent top defensemen though. In juniors when he had to log a ton of minutes, his decision making wasn't the greatest.... However he could have been fatigued

They both have that potential. I just think it's too early to call them bonafide top 3-4 guys.

You can make a case for anyone after Orr honestly.

For me its Orr, Lidstrom, and Pronger.
