On a side note, who would you project within the next 3 years as the Sabres' captain for the future (current rosters players can count too)

Only in Buffalo will you hear about how all these guys on the team are not there for scoring...You hear Paul Hamilton at WGR550 say how "It's not this guys job to score"...To win a cup you need three lines that can score and a defense that can provide offense, teams that win cups are 99% of the time(last 40 years) in the top 5 in goals scored during the season. All the talk is about how BIG BIG huge these guys are in training camp...Big means nothing without talent, skating and grit. This new guy Samuels-Thomas describes himself as a power forward but he doesn't see him self putting up big points lol. Only in Buffalo. Sure, why not. Just have 75% of the team there for no scoring.

Doesn't look good for Armia, floater, he will go back to Euro land and play with his side kick Mike Ryan the great talent. Grigerenko is a bust, the guy is slow and gives a terrible effort. Dan Catenacci is smaller than a smurf and never goes near the net, put up only 10 goals in AHL. I'm not sure why people are saying that Buffalo has the best prospects in the entire league. Detroit has 3 forward prospects that are high end talents, guys that skate shoot and score.

Larsson is a solid player, will make a 3rd liner for some NHL team someday. At least he plays well in the D zone. Zadorov looks good, Ristolainan annoys me, the guy makes too many lazy passes and isn't putting up big numbers in AHL for an eight overall pick.

Girgensons, why is everyone so sure he's the next Ron Francis? How do you know he's such an amazing leader? Are you in the dressing room? The guy is a 15 goal scorer at best is he plays 17 minutes per game. First round picks are supposed to be for high end talent.

I sat right behind the net where Ullmark started. Girgensons hit Zadorov right in front of us and caused a puck to fall that was resting on the goal light above me.

Cancelled our Time Warner cable account and left our internet intact with them and even taht was a pain. You can add services online or really quick on the phone but if you cancel suddenly our site cant handle those kinds of requests.

Ridiculous...

im sort of going to play devils advocate here, i understand that the guy wanted his service canceled and thats fine but if you look at it from the company's point of view they want to figure out what they can do better so if he answered the question of why its not really a big deal. Although The 8 minutes of going back and forth was unnecessary

There was nothing wrong with asking the question.

There was everything wrong with insisting he answer the question before they moved on.

The company can shove it. He doesnt have to tell them anything. He pays for a service he no longer wants anymore, companies make it annoying on purpose to cancel to try to deter people from doing it.

What I noticed while at the game:

Reinhart: Speed is not an issue, took a couple strides and was up the ice, and he definitely sees the play a couple steps ahead. Very good along the boards and has a great pass. Could probably benefit from some AHL time but since he can't I'd say keep him in NHL and keep him on 3rd line til he's use to things.

Baptiste: TOP END SPEED, the kid can move very quickly, needs work on his passing though.

Sundher: Solid, just solid. Great 2 way play, reading the play a step or two ahead. I was very impressed by him.

Fasching: Good on the D end, but I didn't notice him very much offensively, a bit on the slow side.

Carrier: I liked him, did not stand out to much. But always seemed to be in the proper position.

Leduc: Great 2 way minded offensive D. Knew when it was a good time to pinch and when it was not. Decent speed.

Ristolainen: NHL ready. He was just to good for this camp and was far and away the best D in the game period.

Zadorov: Ease up cowboy!!!! Just wants to hit everything but did not seem to fall out of position when he did. I would say he is also borderline NHL ready. Made some great passes.

Compher: Needs seasoning and a lot of. I was not impressed by him much at all.

Armia: Made some great plays, uses his reach to his advantage and has a wicked wrister. I do not however think he is NHL ready. Another season in the AHL will be of great benefit to him I feel.

Lemieux: I LOVED HIM!!! He is quick, great positioning, and a real pest. That said, he needs to work on his shot a bit, and I will admit I am slightly concerned that his attitude (while awesome against an opposing team) may create locker room issues. Though maybe he was doing it purposely today even though it was against future teammates to show off that aspect of his game?

Girgensons: Its him, nuff said.

Grigorenko: Looked good, seemed to be a tad faster and was definitly making some very good plays. AHL this year will be great for him and I could see him being a call up later in season.

Which I get. They're trained to do that. And they'd be stupid not to make a last ditch effort to save the business. However, once the customer says "Nothing you say will get me to switch, they need to back off". I had a similar experience with DirecTV, where I was cutting the chord completely. They tried to sell me a lower package at a lower price, when I gave them the reason of "I'm trying to cut costs". Finally, I told them: "Look, if you cut my bill in half without cutting any of my services, I'll keep it. Otherwise, I need to cancel". The conversation ended there and they cancelled my service. This Comcast employee's act was way over the line.

Grigorenko was more impressive than Girgensons IMO

Girgensons is going to have trouble putting up points in this league with his hands or lack of hands. Good skater, big, tough, physical but has no touch whatsoever.

You can at least see the vision and top end skill Grigorenko has. The "lazy Russian" stereotype will plague him for his entire career no matter what he does

I know its late but not NHL guys, all college guys though. All 3 officials are friends of mine. What did I miss about them? I couldn't get to a computer to watch and usually I am on the ice for these. From what I read there was a little scrap? First one in the 4 years I worked these games, must be that Nolan guy wanting to see some toughness and compete, in fact Lindy had made it very well known he didn't want to see any fighting during these

Funny story, I called TWC pretty mad because my internet kept kicking out.... I wanted to threaten to cancel my service and hopefully get a manager to at least compensate me in some way (I don't ever look for free stuff, but the service TWC provided was awful) and the woman I got on the phone called my bluff and shut me right off without a care in the world. I eventually got a manager and was helped but I almost wish I got that guy instead

yeah thats what i was saying basically. If he answered it the first time it would have been no big deal, Butttt at the point you realize hes not going to answer its time to move on and cancel his service. He was being badgered

I do realize he does have the right to not answer and id respect it if i were the guy on the other end of the phone.

Last thought, some part of me thinks people pull this type of stuff just to get publicity across the internet (probably not in this case).

Oh I agree. Girgs is good for what he brings which is why I did not comment much on him, but Grigs definitely was heads and shoulders above himself last time we saw him. He will be okay! I was one of the few it seems that did not give up on him in the first place!

Every time I call them for anything, I get transferred and cut off. They're always so busy because people have to call them 2 or 3 times after getting cut off.

I didn't get to see much. I was just curious, because they looked more...ahem..official...than I figured. I thought maybe they used a couple coaches (which I know the team doesn't really have right now to spare), but they had patches, numbers, etc, so I just wondered.
