Throw in Snow's old goalie stick and I think Winnipeg will jump at that. - YzermanIsTheMan
For good measure we'll include some of the duct tape that used to hold DP together. It could be worth something one day. |

So...does anyone actually believe that Thornton will accept a trade anywhere, let alone Winnipeg? |

DP. I almost feel sorry for him and how things turned out. |

Yeah. That's what I did. No one twisted anything. The only thing that got twisted was you when you had a dozen people laughing at you for scoffing at completely lopsided trade proposals in your favor. Anyone that actually had the patience just needs to go back and read. One of the more ridiculously dumb discussions I've had on this site. I don't think it's a coincidence that my last one involved the two of you. Good luck in your rebuild. Hopefully all the stars line up for you guys. - Cptmjl
Your contribution to this dumb discussion is noted ! And most offers were not realistic to one side or the other . That is why they were laughed at . You take yourself and this online discussion forum far too seriously .

Almost? I without question feel a LITTLE sorry. I mean, he made out fine, and he’s lucky he signed that long term contract before he broke. But yeah, it sucks, he had a lot of promise.
But hey, he’s not the first to break down, he won’t be the last. Cam Neely, Bobby Orr. Two players that didn’t last like they should have/could have.

They just can't seem to make the right moves. Too bad , they do have some talent . I love watching Hall . He has a gear no one else on the ice has. - Maximum Signal
Interesting. I would agree that the previous GM did nothing to prove you wrong, but I think Mac T has added some very good pieces, corrected several mistakes, and what mistakes he did make were pretty low impact. Would you say he made some serious wrong moves in the last year? Cleaning up Tambo's mess isn't easy, but I think he is making all the right moves to correct it. I'm curious about your thoughts on the matter. |

Bobby Orr and that knee of his.. what a beast and to be considered the best ever while retiring at.. 32?
Yeah. DP is set for quite a while. Was he given a desk job with the Isles? |

Yeah but at least those 2 players accomplished something and reached their potential. |

I don't know if they were wrong moves . The needed moves were missed under Tamb . Like bringing in veteran presence to mentor the young talent . No doubt there is talent there. |

Knee surgery was in the dark ages back then . Orr would have had a much longer career now with those same injuries . Having had 5 knee surgeries . One under the same surgeon that did one of Orr's surgeries and can testify to this.
Orr was the best it was amazing to watch him rush up the ice and his positioning while playing defensively was amazing as well. |

Oh, agreed, 100% Bubba. I don't expect fans of other teams to pay much attention but our GM is very smart and well aware of the teams deficiencies, he says so often, and has made moves that reflect that.
I'll paraphrase Mac T's mandate (over the last year) here ...
"We are not sold on our goaltending, we need to add experience on our back end, we need veteran D-men that can move the puck, we need bottom 6 forwards that can be a positive factor in games (as opposed to players that feel that not having a negative impact on a game is good enough), size in the top 9 and depth at center ice...we would like to add a top D man but there doesn't appear to be any available".
Then you get the trolls that say that " Oilers management have no idea what they are doing, they need to solidify their goaltending, add veteran puck movers, solid checking forwards, size to the top 9, depth at center ice and a top D-man....."

Best part about Orr was when he had the puck with a 1 goal lead and a minute left. He looked like an NHL player playing keep away with 5 mighty mites until the clock ran out. Man amongst insects most of the time. |

I've been unfortunate to only see replays of Orr, but he could hold onto a puck better than anyone. If he were playing today, he'd be getting max term and money. |

An argument can be made that Gretzky wouldn't be Gretzky in todays NHL (I think he would still be the best, but wouldn't double up the 2nd best scorer most year), but I think Orr would fit right in....he was 200lbs and 6 feet so not the biggest guy....but the guy basically had all the best qualities of Paul Coffey, Nik Lidstrom and Chris Pronger rolled into 1. A healthy Bobby Orr in his prime would still win the Norris every single year, there is nobody close, and there never has been. |

I wouldn't doubt it. And the Gretzky argument is subjective. It's hard to say if he'd be a 150 point getting in today's NHL. I think Mario might have been. He had size and strength on Gretzky. |

He would still be the best. He was smart enough to figure out how to put up points...and if Marty St.Louis can win scoring titles in this league than a Gretzky in his prime sure as poop could as well.
Edit: Are we the only 2 guys on HB right now? |

Buffalos 2nd round pick is as good as the kings 1st. So basically ur offering voynov, Clifford and a 2016 2nd for Myers. As Charles Barkley would say " Turrible" - joshs
I wouldn't make this trade anyways. Over paying for one player is rediculous |

How does this trade help buffalo win a Stanley cup? Fans in buffalo are sick of racing for the 8th seed only to get bounced after round 1. Then never really get to draft elite talent and watch the cellar dwellers (that have competent gms) become perennial cup favorites. No more rise to mediocrity.
If you acquire enough of and the right kind of talent through the draft free agents will see your team as contender and you won't have to pay 4.5 a year just to get a chump like Leino historically top end players have taken pay cuts to play for contenders.
Point is buffalo does not want to move Myers. Murray has said numerous times he has plans for him. Gms have been calling so reported rumors of Myers being shopped have validity in that other gms are calling him. It would take a massive overpayment for him to get moved.
I'm glad u don't want to overpay for a any player only a terrible gm would. |

Myers to florida for bjugstad and a prospect - rover16
No way. Won't get our #2 center. The above deal for Kuli and Trocheck I could see, but it would not be solely for Myers. |
