where there is smoke, there is fire

too much talk in the last 2 weeks about myers being moved, not from here

my guess is myers is not murray's guy
there is a good chance that myers showing up out of shape a few years ago is in the back of murray's mind
murray is going to construct his team and it looks like myers may not be in his plans

- homiedclown

This has nothing to do with anything I feel. This is in the past.. years ago.. and has been in good shape each of the last 2 seasons. He has been our best D-Man each of the past two seasons as well. He is becoming a two way and probably more defensive than offensive guy like they wanted... don't compare his rookie year to lately.. they aren't even comparable any more because they have changed him.

Myers was playing his best hockey of his life last season before he broke his leg. That is what is in Murray and Nolan's mind.

Edmonton never got any good vet help to help the kids
- gerbe75pts

Ryan Smyth wasn't the answer they thought he would be.

They are trying with Perron and Ferrance to have a vet presence though.

Ill be there too if its as bad as last year but Im in the minority at thinking at the very least this teams compete level will be worth watching and the bs chaos Pegs and company created to start last season will be gone.

as long as its good hockey ill be fine. If its a blatant tank job ill puke

he is injury prone.. but i don't think he has to play like a bruising dman, that is not his game. as long as he isn't getting thrown around like a doll i don't care. as for the out of shape thing, didn't they tell him to put on weight?
- IndianaSabresFan

I thought at this point he would be putting up 50 points a year and not looking lost every other game

more games then not he freezes up, over the last 3 years

maybe the last third of the season was a sign of things to come, or just that tease to get our hopes up for the next 3 years

Just saying being bad season after season didn't do much for turning that franchise around did it.Gave up on the Bills 10 years after their last Superbowl loss .I will say tho they finally look like a team ready to make a run again.

Once someone dislikes something about someone... all of a sudden everything said or done by that person is magnified to be more annoying or sit more heavily on your opinion than before.

yea... Science!!!

IMO only a small % of fans are wishing for a season as bad as last year. I cant stomach another one myself and don't know why anyone would purchase tickets to watch their team lose.

Maybe you should see Edmonton for that model of success.Luckly I don't actually see TM building this team to tank.I see him doing what he can to get better and letting the chips fall where they may.Fans thinking we are going to pick number one or 2 I think are dreaming or believing we can win the lottery.
- buffalo 1

Give up your seasons tickets ! There is a waiting list . This rebuild is nothing like Edmonton's . Defense was built first with lots of strong later round picks as well . I have been a fan since they came into the NHL and it is nice to see it being done right and not the usual haphazard scramble to build a team to finish 8th . I want to be a powerhouse , not a yearly also ran to keep some grumpy season ticket holders happy.

Sorry you do not feel that way and are happy with mediocrity.

I will be waiting for the first 7 or 8 games before I decide if I am buying center ice or not this season

We think alike my friend. I went ten games in last year saying I wouldn't buy it and still ended up spending the coin.

1. So in your opinion, a defensemen should have been our leading scorer
2. He didn't look lost...... At all last season.

Last season he did.... watching him play last season was one of the only bright spots of the season..

Him with Gorges this year is going to be a good thing.. a guy who he is familiar with.. a rock type guy.. a stay home type guy.. Gonna be good.

Still someone that thinks he is an offensive dynamo... doesn't realize his style of play and asking from the coaches is completely different now.

Coaches have even said in the past that they don't care if he scores another point if he continued to play like he did last year. That was almost an exact quote.

Anyone know the status of Adam McQuaid with Boston ? I think if we are looking for a big physical d man that might be available he would be my favorite.

I feel Myers is the type of guy that needs a steady vet defensive defenseman that he can trust will be there for him to take chances. Yes it was a long time ago but he had a steady consistent partner in henrik tallinder. Gorges may be what he needs. For obvious reasons you cant trust weber.

Hopefully they stay healthy and the lineup stays similar and watch him flourish. Like when he was a rookie give him a role and tell him to do it..not have him save the D core
