Stuuuuuu ya I enjoyed his under dog mentality. Guy came to play every shift and always over achieved!
- Carubba-Kaleta

There was a couple month period where I saw him at least once a week at the local Target, Wegmans, Walmart, etc. I bet he thought I was stalking him!

165 lbs soaking wet, but no one outworked him.

Sabres should have played Stu Barnes video for Tim Connolly

Over rated - Joe Juneau
Under rated - Stu Barnes

Joe Juneau wasn't here long enough to have a cup of coffee let alone to be "overrated".

Hahaha that's funny as hell, he's probably like wtf this guy again.

He is a regular joe on the outside but surely the guy had a ton of heart and intaglibles that just couldn't be explained when seeing him off the ice.

Sweet!

And his partner in crime, Wayne Presley, would have been a good choice, as well.

I'm gonna say it even though it might cause an uproar.

Overrated: Derek Roy. I really don't need to explain do I?

Underrated: Tim Connolly. He knew how to play the puck on the powerplay, something this team has lacked since his departure.

We're done fighting. Sorry.

Vanek? Wow!

I hated Smehlik, but I think he was miscast on the #1 unit with Zhitnik.

- grand-magus

Vanek was supposedly our top flight talent, and was no better, if as good as andreychuk, who was a second-fiddle guy.

Smelik was hated, unfairly in my opinion. Dixon Ward might have been my runner-up.

Ya he had a few good seasons but overall couldn't stay healthy enough to get us anywhere near a cup. Plus all the recent shenanigans makes me believe his got some diva in him.

Ward had a lot more skill than was given credit for, certainly.

Didn't see this in the past history but Reinhart signed his entry level deal:

For a guy who is allegedly certain that the Sabres' pick was going back to Juniors, Tim Murray sure seems to be hedging his bets.

Most overated is a dog fight between Joey Juno, Doug Gilmour.

Most underrated is a dog fight between Max Afinogenov and Mike Grier and possibly Jochen Hecht.

The fact that Murray seems to have given him 23 also makes it seem like he's going to be given every chance to stick.

Murray keeps talking about his maturity; personally I think Sam makes the team and stays. Give him 3rd line minutes, behind Ennis and Zemgus. Ideally, Zemgus may be a better 3rd liner, but Reinhart should be sheltered a bit, to start.

Imo, of course.

I suppose foligno. Wouldnt be a typical third line, but this season isnt about that anyway. I had to look up the sabres depth chart to see who the other left wings are. Larsson is listed, wouldnt be the worst choice, we know he can play center too, but he hasnt shown he can finish up here yet. Deslauriers is only in his second year as a forward, dont like that. Hodgson is right handed, not sure if he is gonna play the off wing, but its not like hes a great defensive player either. Im back to foligno, third line left wing is probably where he belongs.

I couldn't agree more. He was as steady as they come. People in Buffalo got on his case cause he was so big but didn't throw the big hits. He was never a liability in his own zone...high and hard off the glass. Buffalo would kill for someone like him as a 4th D. He also covered for Zhitnik all the time.

Overrated: Alexi Zhitnik, he couldn't hit the broad side of a bar with this "whicked slapper" I still remember when Roenick threw a body check at him in the All-Star game it brought a smile to my face
