The future stars of the NHL should get paid... All the other leagues are paying their players (the stars anyway)...There is no reason why 3rd liners have such a close gap of pay in comparison to the great players... Its crap- pay the stars pay less to the middle of the row types please... Its really difficult to not pay ROR when you got contracts like Orpiks as recent examples of GM stupidity....

When he goes to arbitration he cant compare to UFA's. His comparables are guys like Hall, Duchene, Landeskog, Seguin, Eberle etc. All who have better numbers than him and make 6 mill or less.

Thats my (frank)ing point... the compression gap between average joe in the NHL and superstar is too damn close... There should be a significant difference in salary for the superstars who draw fans, pts and wins and the average NHLer who is no where near elite... and there isnt... thats a big big problem...

I'm ok with players trying to get the best salary way more than players getting a NMC then demanding a trade to only a couple destinations.
