I don't have enough information to back up anything he says other than he's great with analyzing stats, but apparently I don't hear him enough to hear these moron remarks. Well. Valid. Moving on.
- TheSabresTaco

He's not an idiot, I would agree with that, but he is on the "Corsi tells you any and everything" bandwagon.

I like advanced stats, but hockey isn't baseball.

We are going to be a great franchise without him . Hope he has a great career in Chicago . No sense dwelling on something that was never even close to happening.

But still.. Not dwelling the Lebron thing got me thinking about how great it would have been to have one of the top 5 players in the league on our team in his home town.. It would have been a great thing for the city.

Not everyone comes home. It is what it is, we'll move on without him.
- TheSabresTaco

Your right but my point was it would have been really exciting to have one of the top 5 players in the league come home and put us even further over the edge to winning the cities first major sports championship. I think with all our players coming in and next years draft plus Kane we could for sure finally get that done. Not saying we wont without him because I believe we can but it would just increase the odds even more.

Agreed.
Anyway, didn't Kane just sign an 8 year extension with Chicago???
We are going to be good with or without him.

Great dream about it at night . But it was never close . He was a year from becoming a free agent . Signed a big deal . Obviously it never crossed his mind or he would have held out and become a free agent . The real question is ,will Chicago have enough money left to to give them the supporting cast they need . That model has failed in Pittsburgh ,

They gave Sydney and Malkin the big deals after that cup . They have failed to get back to the finals with those two big deals . So yes it has failed.

If you win a Championship with a group, you haven't failed. One championship is worth at least a decade of last place finishes. Whether it happened before or after a big pay day is irrelevant. One championship is an automatic success. This says nothing of the fact that they will still be in Pittsburgh for quite a while and are not anywhere near "done". The Penguins will most likely win another Cup with those two within the next five years.

What gives with Delauriers? Anyone have the scoop on why he's not listed, or am I missing something?

In Buffalo (a championship-less city) that thought process would fly, I'm not sure Pittsburgh feels the same way, they expect to contend for as long as they have 87 and 71

I mentioned this last night. I don't watch the sport much, but the US-Canada lacrosse game last night had more action and more excitement than the World Cup did, and the game really wasn't in question after halftime.

I'm with Max. No one's doubting the skill those two have and take to that team, but he's pointing out that sinking all that money into 2 players is hampering the ability to field a team with enough worthy help to win it all from that point on.

Until it happens, then the model isn't shown to work.
