I'm not sure if Kane has ever improved or if he just became comfortable with the league over the years, a player suffering from a lack of development (character is part of it.)

I wonder how he would have turned out with a year in the A, not sure why his 26 point rookie season was needed by ATL (probably cause the team was crumbling, good way to ruin overall product NHL)

Not sure why a player who was rushed into the NHL from Jr. Is expected to have little ego, that's basically imo the team telling him he is better than everyone on the depth chart, and since there hasn't been a better player (forward, Buff is close) than him on the roster. The team hasn't done anything to change his attitude aside from finger waving. A trade would def. Be a kick in the ass, BUT would likely turn him into the Best version of himself.

In the end I think a trade is a bad idea because a. They won't get fair value and b. They won't win the trade even if it were close which looks bad around the league.

It's nice to read a piece that makes sense. The Leafs are not, and will not make any attempts to move assets to land a player like Kane. Makes no sense whatsoever. As for the team finally using it's developmental system as it is intended to be used? We'll see how many youngsters stay in the Leaf lineup 10-15 games in when they have not scored or contributed up to the rediculous expectations of fans and media alike in Toronto. That's the main issue and has been for many years.

On #Canucks #NHLJets trade talks I learned VAN offer for Kane includes Markstrom and Burrows. Not sure what the other pieces would be.

Are the other pieces a couple first round picks? A salary dump, and a fringe backup goalie for Kane
