Its all fine and dandy that they are trying to draft and develop their own picks, but if the Leafs history of developing players is any indication of the future, we should trade those picks right now.

developing wasn't the issue, it was keeping the picks in the first place so that you actually draft a player to develop.

That plus losing patience and trading away young players we draft for crap and watch them star for someone else. At least Nonis is patient with the young guys.

He's overpayed and would upset the pay structure in the Leafs there is a reason why they didn't over pay Bolland et all.

You guys drafted one talented kid. There's bound to be at least one bust in the top 5 but Nylander is going to have a hell of a career.

johansson is here at the camp but will go back to sweden this year.


EDIT:

Loov has been in town since May, getting to know the city and meet a few of his future teammates. He’ll stay through the team’s rookie camp in London and main camp in September.
What happens after that depends on what kind of camp Loov has.

I think this essentially says he's going to the AHL this coming year. If he was under contract and staying in Sweden he wouldn't be coming to rookie camp or the main camp.

Verhage is a late birthday for last years draft..... only 4 guys outscored him in the OHL last year.
