Agreed, you said 75-80 pts? I can see that if things don't go wrong for them (i'm talking key injuries as I figure there will be the odd injury here and there over an 82 game season).

Personally I see them being anywhere between 3-6, but that's not factoring in the potential for breakout seasons and what Murray may do between now and deadline day.

Probably sucks, but then again that's the plan everyone was willing to buy into so a deviation into a half assed playoff run leading to the 9th overall pick is ultimately a good reason for people to be nervous.

Should they be based on the moves he made? not a chance. If he was really interested in that, he wouldn't spend to the floor and then stop, he would have gone after more players and more short term trades.

Not that I was here for the entire day but it sounds like aside from the length of the Moulson contract, nobody really had a problem with any of the moves he made.

80 points last year would have put them ahead of edmonton (67), calgary (77), florida (66), and the isles (79). that would be an additional 14 wins for the sabres. jfc we were bad.

Always have been and see him as the final move for the year.

Stewart to Ottawa thus allowing them to bring back Ott.

Coho and a combo of picks(not ours or Islanders) for Kane.

Don't necessarily have to tank, you can naturally try to win with a young team as part of rebuild, you'll probably end up with a high pick anyways just from lack of experience and depth alone.

While this is the McDavid show, it's also a deep draft in terms of high end talent. Maybe not 2013 good but still very good.

If they find themselves with a top 7 pick they're getting a pretty good player to build with.
