Don't think we'll see scoring till Armia & Grigorenko (if he pans out) arrive in 2016.

Steve Ott has two firm offers on the table. One is apparently a 2 yr deal to return to the #Sabres ... Considering his options. #NHL

If this is true then TM is a genius at selling UFAs and then signing them back. Helps to have a popular coach too.

Why did Ehrhoff only sign a 1 year deal? Is he moving his family to Pittsburgh? Will TM sign him next summer?

He couldn't wait to get out of here, doubt he wants back. Yep, he's a big reason why they stink this season. Forgot about him.

He is a genius IF he gets him back at that term. But I like his approach. He doesn't do what darcy did and assume its Buffalo and no one will play here if they don't get 7 mil a year at 7 years.

Hoff, no it ain't happening. Murray bought him out because Hoff didn't want to be here. He has zero time for a Darcy guy who doesn't want to play.

I agree, seems like TM is a man of principles, so I don't se it happening.
That said, they could do a lot worse for a 2nd or 3rd pairing DMan with offensive abilities....when motivated. Watch him in Pitt have a very good year.
I wouldn't discard it out of hand as a 0-percenter.

Murray definitely gave Ehrhoff some potential bulletin board material. He cuts him, comes out publicly saying it's an easy decision and that he can't improve the team, and then gives a guy like Andrej Meszaros the same money, albeit at a much shorter term.

C'mon don't stretch this too far. We were on our 10th string goalie to finish the season. There is no reason to believe Ryan Miller is the be all-end all of anyones goaltending situation.
- Buffalo-Sabres

There's a reason Miller was talked about as a legit Vezina candidate while he was with us
Unless Enroth or Neuvirth really surprise us, the "average" goaltending they may give won't be nearly enough to win games when we can't score more than 2-3goals on most nights

I just don't see how we could add another forward. Unless TM is certain of unloading a couple more, then I doubt we add anymore.

Wouldn't mind trading Mitchell or Flynn for some AHL defensive depth

Murray is here. Seems he has set it that , you don't play to your ability ? You are gone . Could see a lot of over achievers. I want to see some talent and what players we will keep going forward and what one will be sent packing . Next season Murray will be watching . Not like we have been used too the past umpteen years.
- cabin

I can see the effort level improving from what we have been used to
But even so...
To really see an increase in scoring that would make a difference, we'd need a good portion of guys to have career high shooting%
Maybe that happens for Stafford & Stewart,
But expecting it to trickle down throughout the entire lineup just isn't realistic
And IMO,
That's what it would take to make a significant difference in our wins/losses

Or he gave him exactly what he wanted. A check for the next 7 years and a chance to go to a contender.

I would bet Ehrhoff is pretty happy right about now

I get that it may have been the perfect storm of awful...
But this year will not be much different
By the end of last season,
Effort was there and we were playing better
But we were still losing
Why?
Bc we didn't have the talent to score goals, and we didn't have Miller in net to save our ass
That hasn't changed
We will again be awful

- jdfitz77

I never said we wouldn't be awful. Not once. Ever.

However, this team is different from the one that limped home with 2 wins in 20 last season. Much different.

Moulson. What'd he score 11 for us while he was here? He's good for 25.

Gionta. He's good for 15.

Gorges. Steadying influence. With him and Meszaros in, and Soft-linder and McStain out, we will be better defensively.

McMuscle. A 4th liner who can actually skate and play the game a bit. (cough, cough...Scott...cough, cough)

Reinhart. Already better than the D'Agostikonopkomarkleinoscottosaurus that we put on the ice last season.

Ennis, Hodgson, Girgensons will all be better offensively.

Again, never said we wouldn't be awful. I said we wouldn't be as awful. And we won't.

True, I don't see much need for Mitchell not that McCormick is back, and I've never been a big Flynn guy anyway. We could probably just waive either one of them too...

Mitchell sure but not flynn, he's a solid 3rd line option for us, i wouldn't trade for just AHL depth.

I wouldn't care if they waived him. I don't think he has enough finish to be on the third line, and I think Deslauriers and Larsson are better options anyway. Just my opinion though.

I can't vision a place for Mitchell. Flynn at least can score a few goals and is a pretty decent pk'r. Regardless, someone's gotta go.

Wouldnt be so bad seeing as Staff & Stew are on short term.

Tho I though TM intimated that The ship had just about sailed with Ott?

Sounds like a bogus report.
