A real solid 2nd line guy or 1st if injuries happen again.

I still see it is..

Myers - Gorges
Mesz - Pysyk
Weber - Ruhwedel
Strachon?

- JVince11

AHL I assume

IDK...is Ruhwedel ahead of Risto on the depth chart? I'm torn between wanting to seeIng a couple young D playing up Or letting them jell together in Roch to win a Championship? I tend to lean on letting them play in Roch...but that means Murray needs to find another NHL caliber D-man or 2 on 1 year contracts.

I don't think TM gets all of vet D-men unless he was planning on the kids staying down.

Who goes in that 7th D-man spot is a mystery to me... I wouldn't waste Risto, Zads, or McCabe in that spot... so to me.. maybe it is Bagnall or Strachman.

I think Strachan was brought in specifically for the Amerks with the intentions of bringing him up if guys like Gorges or Weber get injured.

Honestly, I have no clue who the 6/7 defensemen are going to be here. Ruhwedel seems like an obvious choice I guess, which leaves us with a 7 guy. I can see us digging around FA grabbing guys like Sheldon Brookbank or Corey Potter for dirt cheap short deals.

Nice, good things are moving along. Let me know if work brings you out this way ever.

Murray seems to have set up the Sabres future nicely and I don't want to wish away the summer for football season so I'm really just enjoying the summer and not thinking about sports much.

I personally think Strachan was an AHL move, hence the 2-way deal. I still feel Murray has to do something with the D. He has 4 NHL guys on the roster -- Myers, Meszaros, Gorges, Weber.

Bagnall's spot will forever be in the A. Great partner for Risto. I'd go bin hunting for the 7th man. We don't really have a guy in the system that fits that spot. McBain sure as poop didn't.

So to maximize the rebuild, I'd prefer for TM to find A vet to fill that role...not too good though so we don't ruin our chances at McEichel. So a McBain-esq type, one we can count on to not play like Chara or Doughty...just need him to play once in a while to fill in.
I'd like to see the kids all get another year of development so they are ready to play in the NHL next year

I am trying to set that up for this season honestly.. I have a company that I look after in Northern Pennsylvania and now they have started reaching up into Buffalo/Rochester area and I want to time up a visit out to see the operations at the same time as a game.

I live in Rochester, so I'll need to go to a few Amerks games to watch all the future Sabres...should be a good year for them.

Our Rochester team could be so f'n stacked this year... I just wish they get out of the 1st round..

I can't even fathom what those lines will look like.

Hopefully someone better than Mcbain though, that guy sucks balls. Sure he has flashy offensive moments but he twice dumped opposing players on our goalies and broke their legs. Hopefully he finds someone solid enough so we can properly evaluate the goaltending situation.

I will probably go see the boys against Minny, STL, or CHI this year for sure... last year I saw them in Colorado get beaten like a red-headed step child.

I will see them in Columbus this year too hopefully.

Outside of causing serious injuries to our Goalies, he was perfect 7 man for a tanking focused team! That is what they need. Then if they need to sabatoage the season, they have the perfect player to plug in.
I just hope that Murray didn't upgrade the team too much...we need to finish last so we get one of top 2 picks...I have never routed against the Sabres or Bills except for last year...feels odd, but need to keep an eye on the prize for one more season.

I remember that. You talked about that game for months and we got stomped. Just looked at cap geek, we still have the second lowest payroll in hockey, but unlike last year we actually fielded a professional hockey team. I don't expect greatness, but I expect them to be respectable. As in I don't think the losing streaks will hit 7 games again. I don't think they will lose more than 3 in a row.

I get it, but with the diminished odds for the last place team to win the lottery, and the fact that we didn't even win it last year, I just think Mcbain set us back waaayy to far. Breaking 2 goalies legs because you got beat just isn't cool. Mike Weber can go out with a bad + - and at least no one gets hurt.

Weber might not hurt our players, but I die a little inside when he's on the ice

I'm no Mike Weber lover, but he at least takes his role as tough guy, stay at home defensemen seriously. He bangs bodies and keeps people off the goalie. He is just ultimately slow and not that good.

I think he's got the ability to be the worst player in the league at times. I'm hoping he's a key cog in getting Jack Eichel.

Although I do think just by the Sabres being a stable team, we won't finish last. I expect a team to completely melt down and finish lower than us.
