Chara plays a totally different game than Myers. To continually compare Myers to Chara is absurd.

These convos get exhausting. As time goes on more make believe things become facts.

Myers is more than an ok skater, for his size he's elite. He also has more skill than Chara. You are right, Chara is tougher and just flat out better.

If the Myers/Chara comparisons "have to stop" than the Myers/Delmore comparisons have to stop.

I happen to be a Nyquist fan. But, I'm just as happy watching him play for Detroit.

I think you Myers' fans are taking much of this way too personally. It's unhealthy.

I doubt anyone on this site is trying to run 57 out of town. But if the right deal came along, 90% of us - without hesitation - would pull the trigger, while the other 10% are dialing suicide hotline.

He is a great skater for a big man . Much better than Chara . Maybe he is never is mean as Chara . Who cares if he has better skills . Big men take longer to develop as a rule of thumb . Why ? I don't know . Just the way it is .

At the same age Myers is now Chara was a throw in as part of a trade from the Islanders to Ottawa . So I like Myers development so far . That is how he is being compared to Chara . By the size of his frame . I will take Myers at this stage of their careers..

There's a difference between comparing the type of player, and comparing there growth curve.

Myers will never play like Chara, but he could mature along the same curve.

Matt Moulson is 6'1 200lbs, therefore he has to be as tough as every 6'1 200lb player or smaller. And I will criticize him every time he isn't

Some Red Wings' fans on Bleacher Report came up with a trade offer I think you guys should hear:

Myers for Weiss, Kindl, 2016 1st, Tatar, Ferraro

I don't like it much. First off we take a bad contract on an injury riddled player like Weiss, whom regardless of our cap situation, isn't worth it. Then we take on Kindl, a less than adequate replacement for Myers. We also get a 2016 1st instead of a more desirable 2015 first. Tatar, I don't have problems with acquiring at all. Then we finish it off with Ferraro, a guy who really hasn't raised an eyebrow with his play in the AHL yet. Overall, it's not the Nyquist++ deal we want so I'd reject it if I'm GMTM

Its a spare part trade that every teams fans try to throw out. "Ill take one of your better players with huge upside and give you a bunch of pieces that we were throwing out anyways". Expect to give up something that you really dont wanna give up, if you want him. For me, its mantha plus.

I love this site, and love debating things like this. I also like Myers partly because he's so polarizing, but the things people make up out of thin air that becomes known as facts are getting ridiculous

So the rumor is just that?

You wear out those same tired examples . Myers is a keeper . Why do you think the rumors keep coming up about him ? Because other teams realize that and also realize too much pressure was put on him too soon here . They see the potential . That who is starting the rumors . Murray has said that on numerous occasions and joked about it . If we trade him a get a huge return , Great ! But you do not trade him just for the sake of making a move .
