As a kid... before the great SE Asian War... I worked for I. Jablow and sons who manufactured boys shirts at 1oth & Berks in Philly... I worked in Stock... Some interesting facts I learned about the Business sobered me up for life. Among them were two very interesting things... One is that when a Department or Clothing Store made an order for shirts and in the order we were out of a particular size for a particular style they would change the tags so that either a half size or so off was sold as the size requested... or... in the case of a more massive shortage a close style was closely substituted for the requested one by again changing the tabs to denote the item number they requested.

Another sneaky practice dealt with the Generic topic we are discussing... They would make agreement deals with different Department Stores or Clothing Store Chains that guaranteed them that they had exclusive rights to the product style and would be the only store(s) selling them... But what they actually did was have different brand names that they would make for them exclusively. They would have a certain style of shirt that they would have as a 'pool' to take from... the exact same shirt would be sold to different stores in the Area unders different Brand names with their own tags -- I remember 'Big Top' being one of the names -- so, back then Gimbles and Lit Brothers could have the same shirts with different names thinking that each one had an exclusive product.

Jablow had a whole bunch of Tag Sewers lined up whose job was to change the tags on shirts to alter the Tags to deceive the stores about size, style or exclusivity... Stock boys spent a large part of their day getting Tags changed before shipping.

I learned that the Manufacturers would do whatever it takes to make a sale... and not give a damn about being honest.

As a yute, I worked in an Italian food distributorship. The same product has 4-5 different labels pending on who was the customer.

Actually I was more curios about what happened to the Games, Discussions, Help, Interests, etc. Chatrooms, rather than the flirty, meet-up ones.

There used to be some fun discussions and games played... kind of like here but with a just about new cast of zanies each chat.

There used to be a great Chat Room site where NHL Fans used to meet up... in this case the Usual Suspects always returned... and discussed/debated NHL Teams and Topics... as well as some sidebar interesting conversations.

There used to me many other than the AOL ones... and they were very popular... and then suddenly they faded from popularity and the from sight altogether. I really don't understand why they did.

TBH... these Forums here are the closest to the AOL ones that I have come across in a long time... Fun times.

As far as prepackaged cookies go, they are easily the best.

IIRC the chocolate chips in their cookies were unbelievable for a non-bakery store bought cookie.

By far the best non-homemade chocolate cookies out there.
