Is Jimmy Hayes the last remnant from the Seguin trade?
- PhillySportsGuy

I think so. Have you seen the video that's out there of Boston during the Seguin trade? If I was an Oilers fan I'd be so scared right now after seeing how he operates.

Jets aren't bad at trading. They do seem like they need the planets to align to make one though

I recall most of the backlash was Burke getting angry. I think it set the stage for GM's to look at these pretty negatively.

But yeah I'm with you, it should be standard business to take advantage of teams that can't get their cap act together.

Admittedly, part of this is my hatred for Yzerman. He seems to weasel out of every difficult situation.

Drouin holds out; Gets called up, has good playoff run and now wants to stay

MSL demands trade to ONE particular team; Gets 2 first rounders

Stamkos about to hit FA; Gets deal done for below market value

Hedman signs below market value

Every cap crunch is avoided with a trade at the perfect moment

I was one of 2 Leafs fans that didn't want Stamkos at $10M. If he's a 70 point player from now on that'd be a crippling contract.

Watch him return to his elite form just to further prove I know nothing.

If it makes you feel any better, I would least like to deal with Toronto
- PhillySportsGuy

Surely not because they have nothing worth trading for right?

The Hedman contract really surprised me. Like, i get it that they've got a good young team and that's a great sales pitch. But that is pretty hefty hometown discount.

He does seem to be on a roll...I don't see how Kuch signs for anything less than Tarasenko money, but Yzerman might have another rabbit still.

I definitely wouldn't want him for $10M. He's just a pure scorer. He doesn't tilt the ice every shift like Kane and Kopitar. He would need to be at least a point per game scorer to warrant $10M IMHO!!!!!

He'll probably get Kucherov on some bridge deal for two years and figure out a way to deal with it later.

I'm praying Francis throws a big offer sheet at Kucherov.

Perhaps you're not familiar with section 29 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms...
- D0PPELGANGER

So it's ok for the law to treat different people differently because the law says it's ok to treat them differently.

And you're OK with that.

This is the main reason I wasn't upset that he re-signed.

It's a lot of (frank)ing money... could have bit the Leafs in the ass big time.

It makes sense. The Canes have a poopload of capspace and could use the publicity from the move.

Plus it could pay dividends later if Tampa matches and it (frank)s them.

Do you think he'd make them good enough that they wouldn't be picking in the top 10?

Has there been an offer sheet signed since the lockout?

I doubt they're picking in the top 10 this year anyway. They didn't last season and they're a much better constructed team this year (Except for the goalie)

Offer sheet Kucherov then tell them you'll take Bishop instead
