Because it's a fairly even trade and HB posters only like trades when their team hits a home run on a lopsided trade?
That or team needs dictate they need D more than a winger. |

The biggest problem with the trade...you probably looked at Perron's stats and saw LW and figured he would be awesome with Giroux, right?
Perron still has consistency issues and concern over concussion history. Then add in the fact it would leave a GIANT hole in the Flyers defense. No, throwing some young kid or another veteran in his place would not fix that. |

I have no doubts that Marleau is in play.....but why on God's green a Earth would he trade Marleau for a washed up, expensive flash in the pan? Lol
They have two goalies under contract who are better and cheaper than Ward. DWil makes that trade and he better have his walking papers soon after. This trade makes less than zero sense from the Sharks perspective.
If anything, I could imagine the Sharks looking at Justin Faulk. - filosofy71
We are not impressed by this thing you call "sense" here |

No evidence of either last year. The only inconsistency he experienced last year was his line mates. Played with something like 3 different centers and 5 different wingers throughout the season , had to switch wings to accommodate....still netted 27.... |

Sorry but either your over-valuing what Coburn is or under-valuing Perron? Some Flyer fans want to ship out Coburn bc of his play but don't want to make a hockey trade for Perron ( which on a lousy Oiler team, produced large ). Now grant it, if you value more the D than O, then I can understand your point, but what type of return do u think you can get for Coburn? ( And I'm not doubting his value, just Perron would be a good get ). |

I had him in fantasy and did wonders for me, especially on the PP
always liked him since STL and thought Oilers stole him in that trade... MPJ |

As for value then the two players are very comparable, as for the Flyers situation the trade would not make them better. |

Hes been a pretty consistent player weather he's got a injury or not. I think his mentality just didnt fit with the guys in STL. Coburn to EDM could make some sense. But Perron seems to fit in there really well. And he seems to like it on that team. Trading him would be bad for EDM. |

Yeah, I am not in a rush to move him....but a top pair D-Man is a Top Pair D-Man....and I suffer the illusion that we will get one for free. |

ROR played the vast majority of his minutes with Duchene last season. When he didnt play with Duchene, his numbers went way down. Pretty simple. |

That part is true....Philly shouldn't be looking to move BC unless a better D is coming back. |

Yea maybe Cam Ward and 2 1st rd picks for Marleau....
Would like to see O'Reilly as a Leaf though for sure.. not sure what all they want though I would like to keep Gardiner and Reilly. Phaneuf will be hard to replace...maybe they would take Franson, Percy and 2015 1st rd pick + 2016 2nd rd Pick? |

Bailey plays the wing...
You can cave him for a draft pick.. do you have a second rounder? - jimmc7722
My bad, he's listed as a centre on Hockeydb (and since I don't watch many Isle games I just went with that), but as a winger that's even worse. Calgary has more left wingers than any team should have.. More left handed shooters than any team should ever haveā¦ He's just not the type of player Calgary needs. |

Huh? You think Marleau will get far and away more than Spezza and Kessler? Why am I not surprised?

Never serious. Plus I wandered into a conversation like a lost child and was way off topic. It happens. |
