Leddy is overvalued because he skates well in a straight line. Common mistake that novice fans make.
And all those guys will not be enough to be true contenders with a glaring hole hole in your top 4.
At the NHL level its the mental game that separates guys from the best. Leddy is severely lacking in that aspect. He thinks the game at a pee wee level. - Elbows15

If Alexander Karpostev can be traded (and more than once), then Rosival can be traded.
There will always be a GM that sees value in someone. |

Dude, you just argued with me 2 threads ago --despite the proof in your face that you misread, btw -- that Keith never paired with Leddy "for an extended period of time." I'll put my money on the old (frank), thank you. I'm just sayin' ... |

Man could he skate. He should have become a NASCAR driver with all the laps he took. |

Hi John,
A lot of teams bulked up this offseason, most notably the Sharks (even though they went for size/bruising and not necessarily skill). Do you think the Hawks will add some size to help protect the younger, and general smaller size, of the Hawks? I know he had some freak accidents last season, but I think George Parros would be a good addition. Montreal won't be re-signing him and I know you can get him cheap. I know people have him pegged as a meathead enforcer (something the NHL is trying to phase out), but I think he could be a good fit for the smaller Hawks that may need some protection.
I know it won't happen, but it was just a thought I had. Here is a good read that provides some insight into Big George and his game play and thought process: http://espn.go.com/nhl/st...arros-fighting-goon-fight |

With regin signed for the next year, kruger might be an option to move - he'll be looking for an uptick next year and he has not shown a scoring touch at all. Then TT could start at 3C and flip to 2C when Richards tires out at the end of the year. TT needs to get in the lineup next year - dpard
I believe that you don't understand the role of the 3C if you are considering putting TT in that position. 3C lines up consistently against the other teams top center. The 3rd lines job is to shutdown the other teams top line. The Hawks would have to be on crack to put TT in that position. He's better served playing a top 6 role in Rockford. Kruger is pretty close to untouchable. Scoring isn't everything, he is great in his own zone, kills penalties and is dangerous enough. In short, right now he's not paid to score, what he's paid to do is shutdown the other team and keep them busy in their zone which he does very good. |

He is nothing but a goon on the ice. And he is done. He is one bad hit from wearing a bib for the rest of his life.
Off the ice he is a smart and pretty good guy.

You are the one who brought family into this. I couldn't care less what you think of my opinion. If you want to argue with me about it. Fine by me.
And show me where I said Oduya is a HOF'er. What I do know is that Oduya is better than Leddy. And that Leddy is not a top 4 D-man on a contender. - Elbows15
Some.goofs been taking posts on here and funneling the clown at cheer the anthem. Guessed wrong and I apologize for that. However I hope whoever that is either stops or is man enough to admit it.
The Hawks need anther banger who can skate and Tae shifts late in the game. I'd love another center but I don't think that'll happen.
As far as leddy goes time will.tell. I think the Hawks have seen enough but if they kept him it wouldn't surprise me |

Ok.If you think Sharp is gonna get Brooklyn to the playoffs, you think Nielsen fills a need right now, because after two more seasons imagine what he commands on a market (he makes 275,000 now) where David Legwand a 3rd liner got three million a year.
So what is Nielsen a two year fill and the cost a REAL NHL scorer?
It's not like I came to my opinion through my arse, or just came online to down you guys, but things have to make sense to me, and I think this is past happening after the signed Richards at a bargain rate.
and sure, the Rangers would love a Leddy typr carrier, but there is absolutely nothing on that roster cap wise that fits the Hawks .
you can conjure a RFA Brassard comig to hawks but he made 3.2 million already.
If they are talking ...it is thank you to Slats for buying out Richards. And no one put Dominic Moore on a pedestal either. - wiz1901
Wiz. That's what I basically said in my original post is that that ship had sailed and was all moot after the signing of Richards.
The proposals I discussed for Nielsen, Eller or Vermette were all hypothetical ones that predated the signing of Richards. I even put BEFORE in all caps to emphasize.
Anyway...carry on. |

Fine, so long as it isn't one of their top four. Carrying the extra D man hurt them several times last season, anyway. |

Exactly. So what, exactly, are you arguing about? If your argument held any water, he'd be centering the third line, no? Take a pill. |

They lurk here. Anyone can take a screenshot. And I know for a fact that JJ has been in contact with at least one person there and they have talked.
Ideally, what they need is a center who can take FO and kill penalties to take some of the harder minutes away from Toews. That in itself will make them better.
It will free Toews to get a few more O zone starts.

Please ... don't say that ... I would have to agree. And that makes me want to cry, after all the joking and put downs I did on him before last season (and he deserved every one of the them). |
