Don't like those shows, either.
But doesn't it seem strange that a town in North Carolina - the South in 1960 - didn't have any blacks at least walking around looking for a "colored" drinking fountain? - StLBravesFan
1960's tv land. Were there a lot of black people on tv other than Lt Uhura? Bill Cosby was in I Spy, Kinch from Hogan's Heroes. Off the top of my head that's all I got. I also remember there was a guy on Land of the Giants too. |

They had the seldom seen "Goldstein," the white cop there to look stupid and take honkey jokes, and later "Cal" replaced Lemont. Still, great show. Redd Foxx was something else. |

But that's my point: you, and Steve, and Savvy already have discussed it - and keep on discussing it here. - StLBravesFan
I alluded to some things I've heard and specifically said I don't conclude whether they're true or not.
So no, it hasn't really been discussed (by me). You don't have a point. And you're stirring the pot. |

Sticky floors in the 2nd balcony - and the haze of cigarette smoke that rose up to the first balcony. - StLBravesFan
Never mind the pond of piss in the mezz johns, smoke so thick it could be cut with a knife. I second hand smoked a pack a game the last 12 years at the barn in section X mezz by the organ. I re-sell nearly all my tickets now. UC is nice for new places (joint is already 20-yrs old ), but I didn't miss a game in the old barn the last several years there. Now with HD, my man-cave & bar there's less reason to make the 110-mile round trip. |

Well, then, I apologize to you.
But not for stirring the pot: pots need stirring so things don't stick to the bottom.
I will continue to do so in response to others who also stir the pot.

Which reminds me of a very funny line from an episode of the Simpsons guest starring Werner Klemperer (Colonel Klink) where Homer asks him:
"Did Kinch really have a radio in the coffee pot?" |

K, well, to say I was stirring the pot—when I just said I had heard some things but out of respect for the player and the innocent involved, i wouldn't divulge details (and it might not be true)—is a stretch. And feels like you're looking to start some trouble on the board.
In light of some of the crap that went down here (and on Twitter with at least one regular poster here a couple of weeks ago), you'll forgive me for just being a little tired of it. I don't want to see any more bans handed down. Not threatening you with one. But this garbage has a tendency to escalate, especially when someone takes umbrage over nothing, or over someone literally trying to avoid trouble.. |

Strange - no one chose an avatar of a black character in that show. - StLBravesFan
Not sure we want to touch that one. |

NYR kind of thin on center right now with Boyle and Richards leaving
They have been looking for a #1 center pretty bad in recent years and Brassard/Stepan/Moore cant handle that matchup.
They have a crop of 2Cs/3Cs, even with JT Miller coming in
In addition, unless they are willing to give us Kreider (which im sure theyre not), they dont really have anything that can address the Hawks needs on offense AND that they can part with based on their needs as well |

Now I wanna share some love with you all before I go spend my summer holidays in cottage near by one the thousand lakes we have here in Finland.
Here´s the love:
I´m totally aware that I might not see Hawks winning anymore cups in my lifetime. But I´m so grateful I had chance to see them lift the Cup twice. But still if they can´t win and even if they start to suck at some point, I´ll be always proud Hawks fan and support them. No matter what happens. For now, I don´t think there is any better time to be a Hawk fan. Enjoy! - MjulQvist
Been a Hawks fan since the mid-60's. I share the same feelings as you. That is why I will never agree with many of the quick fixes some of our fans are pining for. I have seen too much of that over the years.
I enjoy the Hawks playing style and would not trade those players who contribute to that playing style. I know that fans of other teams also enjoy games featuring their teams against the Hawks. And so do the owners of other teams as those games generate the most revenue. |

We've seem to have lost our focus since Mayberry went dry. Maybe JJ could just put up a new TV show when he starts a new thread and we can take it from there. |
