That team is nothing without ROR this year. I don't give a flying (frank) what his WOWYs or any other advanced metric says. He is an absolutely off the charts 200 foot player.

I think the craziest part about his season is the ONE PENALTY he did get was because he played with a broken stick and didn't realize it had snapped

I think what Sakic said is true. He is down the pecking order on the team behind Duchene, Landy and likely within a year or so behind Mac as well. So a top 4 player on the team but not their franchise guy.

If he would accept a deal equal to Duchene they would do it and move on.

He's the second best player on the team IMO. He's ahead of Landeskog right now. Although, I think in as early as a years times Mackinnon will become the most dominant of the 4.

I didn't interpret what Sakic said that way. I took it as "Duchene makes 6 mill, and he's the best player on the team right now. At best, ROR is his equal, but does not deserve to be paid more". I don't think he really hinted at a "pecking order", unless you read something I missed.

Duchene drives that team. Like Hall for us. Hall can perform with Gags, Yak, Ebs, Nuge, Perron, Hemsky, Horcoff who ever he is with. Take those guys away from Hall and they're not as effective. Same for ROR with Duchene.

Nothing I said was false. I dont hate ROR. And yes Duchene did carry him. He played the vast majority of his minutes with Duchene. And when moved away from him hardly produced.
You have a massive hard on for him is all.

And no his advanced stats were not strong. The whole team was pretty bad. And he and Duchene may just have chemistry but he did not perform even close to the same when away from him.

and didnt he get awarded his first huge contract after playing at CENTER. and WITHOUT duchene? and in that season centering a different line he was on pace for 58 points.

Well, offensively he is better than the vast majority of AHLers. Also Todd Nielson is a great coach to have in the AHL... Helps improve defense in OKC.

How is Todd Neilson a great coach to help improve his defense, when the team itself is close to the worst in the league defensively? Don't forget the fact you played the "Russian bolt to the KHL" card about Yak and his agent. So now you wanna send him down for a year, a player who you suggest will go to the AHL. How do you think that helps with the whole Russian factor?

I think your reading a bit deep into it. Basically I thought he said he was a very good hockey player, but not a franchise player and offensively he benefits from Duschene, ist the driver himself.

your only assuming ror's offence. which also isnt true as previously mentioned he was on pace for 58 the year before without duch.

but either way , he's till extremely effective defensively. the fantastic two way play is really the crux of all of this. so what hes not a superstar scorer? theres plenty of two way guys that id take over one dimensional scorers. especially on our team.

last season, he was unequivocally ahead of landeskog. totally agree that he was the 2nd best player on that team. of course mackinnon is the wild card, and prob on his way to the best of em all. but the point stands


i interpreted those words the same as you. how could it be interpreted it another way?
there was no pecking order insinuation. it was duchene and ror mentioned. period. anything beyond that is pure conjecture and attempting to frame words to furthur ones point. but no truth to it whatsoever
