It effects the immune system, namely helper T/CD4 cells which destroys the bodies immunity, thus meaning one still has the HIV virus, but also Acute-Immunodefficiancy Syndrome. Did you wanna see some textbooks where it is commonly referred to as HIV-AIDS???
