The problem isn't leadership or coaching...it's a lack of NHL hockey players in all positions.

And Corson was a drunken Hooligan who spent way too much time at barry T's.

Mess was a total f'n trainwreck off the ice. He was absolutely the definition of "out of control"...but he kept it on the rails as far as the game was concerned. Outside of the obvious (Probert, Kordic, Belfour, Vernon, Fleury, K. Stevens, etc.) not many lived it up more than Messier.

Hall seems to be getting like that. He is only 22 years old too.

I think I would give him the C. They old boys club is gone and he is pretty much the leader of the new young core. He's not quite Toews but I see it in him. I like his two linemates, but they are both silent, whiney teenagers it seems. It takes passion to win, I don't see it in Eberle all the time. Don't even get me started on Justin Schultz.....f'n trade him yesterday.

Josh Gorges would have been pretty great.

I don't know about any of that. If Hall is this great leader and influence he should be doing it now.He shouldn't need the C to bring it out of him.

Eberle does wear an 'A'. I think the plan is to give it to Hall once Ference is done his contract. Give the guy a couple more years to develop. Nothing against Hall, but Ference is the most veteran guy on the team.

RNH won't be a leader in my opinion. and agreed, fck Jultz.

very good point. Honestly, I wonder if he is too polite/respectful/etc. Someone should have (maybe they did) call out these old boys that just floated around and pretended to compete (Horcoff, Gagner, Hemsky, Gilbert, Dubnyk, etc. etc.) If it were "in him" he probably would have done it even as an 18yr old.

Here's hoping he was at least thinking it and just didn't want to cause a rift.

While we're on this subject, I still can't explain the Smid trade. He was the kind of guy I liked back there.

Anyway, we shall see.

Smid had heart and guts but it didn't add to a very good hockey player. He sucked.

You are delusional. Horcoff, Gagner, Hemsky, Gilbert, or Dubnyk didn't compete? You should go back to taking care of business on the ice and in the boardroom.

I actually like that, let's say:

Petry + 3rd + 4th for Berglund + Ian Cole + 2nd

I'm not sure Berglund > Petry - trying to be unbiased

Ian Cole isn't worth more than a mid round pick

Hall Nuge Eberle
Perron Berglund Yak
Pouliot Arco Purcell
Hendricks Gordon Pitlick

Marincin Fayne
Nikitin Schultz
Ference Cole

Is that a better overall line up??
