Ive played that scenario out in my head a few times.

If we picked 1st and 2nd, I would take McDavid and auction off #2 for the best offer you can get.

Basically going the opposite route of what the Pens have with Malkin/Crosby. Instead of having both, you trade 1 for the depth to surround the 1 you keep

- CaptPantalones

In my eyes it depends on how Reinhart is developing. If he has a good showing in his rookie season and guys like Armia and Grigorenko are showing they will be ready soon, I would take McDavid and see what you could get for #2

Armia could be a call-up at some point.

He's at that age where guys start to see NHL games. I'd almost wager we see him at some point

- sbroads24

I'm just not seeing it. Unless he absolutely explodes offensively, his all around game still needs to grow a lot.

Yeah I mean anything is possible..just don't see it in the cards for this year.

Judging by the Vanek trade alone

October 2013: 1st, 2nd, Moulson
March 2014: 2nd, prospect

I think they're worth more right this second. That being said, and this is just a feeling, only one of them will be shuffled away.

- TheSabresTaco

I bet they both get locked up for about $10 mill/per yr a pop.

With the cap going up, a slick GM can make that work. And both guys are young, lock em up for 7 years and you'll have em in their prime.

Jettison The Sharps & Hossas of the world for youngsters like Saad. As long as Chi has Towes, Kane, Kieth, & Seabrook... They'll be competitive.

Prob wait till the trade deadline to move Stafford & Stewart, more value then.

Armia had a nice post season. That's what exactly happened with Girgensons.

- SuperCat

To be fair, Girgensons overall game is much stronger than Armia's.

I'd use it to grab two high powered wingers.

So many players stop scoring after age 32, wgr has an entire show pointing out how players age 27-30 are the ones to get short term only. Moulson is slow now, in five years he will be a sloth. I would have signed him three years max, Gionta signed two years max. The GM Says at draft how he wants big huge players but he drafts a skinny Smurf and signs midgets

"at dev camp, saw prince go into a private room with GM"s. Trade?"

Just saw this.. been following a few sens things on twitter lately amid trade rumors... Guy says Prince still not on ice and he's been linked to the Sabres.. if it is him and not Pumpel then it better only be for Stewart.. I'll let you know if I see any updates.

I saw a few random anonymous rumor monsters throwing out trade proposals left and right, but any legit links to trading?

I hope Stewart is gone. We can't risk him losing value by playing on a bad team.

Grigerenko will never be an NHL player, the guy has no heart and is slower than a sea turtle on a Sandy beach. armia has some skill, I hope he can put up big numbers in the AHL, God knows he's the only prospect who has a chance for any scoring future. I go to all the amerks games, the guys scoring down there are all veterans with no NHL chance. The little Smurf who led them in scoring is good but doubt he will make Sabres.

Aye carumba! And what if Eichel turns out to be better than McDavid?

If you get both picks, you take em & run baby!!! And just sit back n smile.

McDavid, Eichel, Reinhart, Girgensons, Risto, Zadorov, Pysyk, Foligno...

That's more young talent than the Pens or Blackhawks had to build around!!!

Perhaps you should go back a recheck how Murray drafted, every player is at least 6 feet and around 190 pounds or above as 17 and 18 year olds. They will add weight.

You should how can I put this delicately...read more post never? no that's not right um how about read a lot more and post once a month?

The buffalo Sabres GM said he wants bigger guys, he wants team to be hard to play against etc. Watch or read some interviews, you might learn something. Go to Buffalo news and read and watch his interviews.

Well.. Prince has been rumored to request a trade dating back to February.. He's from Rochester where he'd probably start off the season. Murray drafted him and the Sens have been linked to Stewart for a while.. Just putting those together it does sound like something but you never know.. I'll see what I can find out.

My cat got one last week, ate it's entire head and left the body. My dog got to it apparently and plucked all the hair off it, kinda like a chicken.

I think those two are working in tandem!

Reinhart is not as tall as he is listed, just like Derek Roy wasn't 5'11" etc. Teams always add a few inches. I'll take Reinhart but I just think it's funny how GM Says he wants size then signs Smurf.
