We are absolutely mourning the loss of Orpik for 5.2 mil, Nisk for even more, and Engelland for 2.9.

I doubt I'll be able to sleep again tonight, the amazing value those players would have brought us at that cost is going to cripple our entire season. Let me bow down to the exemplary model your team has shown for making it to the Stanley Cup the last 47 years.

Did you win last year? i forget the way you talk sounds like you guys won i seem to remember a team losing with 2 of the best players in the world. Maybe im not remembering it correctly did you win?

I'd take Clarkson off your hands had you not signed him to $2M/per above what he's real worth..

So would 29 other teams.

So why sign him to such a horrible deal? Are you guys trying to get us into a lockout?

Seeing guys like Olli Jokinen get 2.5 mil for 1 year makes the thought of 3.5 for another year of Sutter's service far more easy to swallow.

Well, that and his performance in the playoffs while playing with passable linemates.

Plus he's only 25. Seems like moving Sutter would just weaken a bottom 6 that they just went through a lot of effort to fix.

And Downie and Comeau are bottom 6 guys who haven't been primary penalty killers. Trading Sutter would make keeping Adams around more necessary.

Spaling/Dupuis/Goc/Sutter is actually a pretty fast and skilled penalty killing group.

What is Sutter worth in a trade? Doubtful he is going to bring home more than a 3rd liner. I have seen people trying to package him with Martin but with Martins NTC it may be tough.

Could we pry Coyle from Minnesota with a package like Martin + Sutter?

How about a straight swap with LA - Martin for Richards, is Richards still a top 6 forward? Then we could trade Sutter for a third liner or pick + prospects.

Could we get one of Edmontons wonderkids? Sutter + Pouliot/Harrington for Yakupov?

Sutter + Fleury worth anything to a team in desperate need of a goalie like Winnipeg?

I wouldn't do any of these at all.

Just know that Johnston likes to use his best players on the PK so where Dan Bylsma never used Sid and Geno, that may happen now.

Did you make the play-offs last year after making all those upgrades - Bernier, Clarkson, whoever else? Remind me. Can't remember. Everyone had you ticketed to the play-offs.

hes 37 and polak is 28. Im not pounding my chest simply said no to the rly bad trade proposal if you love martin so much then keep him.
- jake24242

would love to. He's is among the top 50 defenseman in the league. he just happens to be in his final year of the contract and is being paid. and no, by the way, you dont have any defenseman as good, overall. dion may have more talent but a much worse contract. your youngin's aint there yet, maybe reilly gets there, but not yet.

Brandon Sutter's been the #1 center on his team in on-ice save percentage every season of his career. Often by huge margins.

The kid just doesn't make mistakes, and covers for the mistakes of those around him. That limits the high quality chances, and drives up the on ice sv%. Maybe he's not worth 3-4 million a year, but don't fool yourself into thinking Goc and him are more or less the same.

And therein lies the problem when talking about a cap ceiling team.

Kadri wont be going the other way unless you add a high pick or A prospect.
- jake24242

As much as I think Toronto might look to move him...which is foolish...I wouldn't want him I don't think. Nothing personal. Just think there may be some different options out there.
