i love going back and forth with you on here dude, but you need to cut the blogger some slack.

Why? When I think the blogger is dead wrong, why not call him out, or is he beyond reproach and can't be criticized? I don't like the thought of Sutter at 4 million either, but ...

IMO Sutter is better than Goc, he has the potential to be even better, when? No one really knows, he's got more game breaking speed than goc but Marcel is just your typical safe player, however the 3.5-4 to 1.2 salary difference is hard to ignore. I would be perfectly happy with packaging Sutter and Martin for a good player.... I still want the pens to look at Mike Santorelli in this instance to sign in replacement of Sutter, if he wants to take 2yrs at 1.25 ya gotta do it. He would be an excellent 3LC, Goc can do 4LC, Spaling can play wing.

You're team's great performance in the post season this year says a lot towards not needing to improve the team with veteran leadership and skill.

Oh wait...

Goc, Spaling and Hornqvist played together for 2 seasons in Nashville. It's a good thing.

Hope we are targeting at least one of them for the bottom lines and occasional stints on the top lines:

David Booth
Daniel Winnik
Devin Setoguchi
Mike Santorelli (added now)

Also...I feel we are going to land a big fish in a trade to play Top 6. Tomorrow perhaps.

We have already added vets to the team compared to last year. So your argument is flawed try again.

Do I really need to phrase it as "Veterans that would make a positive difference"?

I'm not necessarily the politically correct fun police, nor do I routinely feel the need to fight someone's battles for them, but I definitely think there is a line between criticism (which most writers probably welcome, good ones anyway) and seeming to continuously demean their efforts in putting forth a product for people to enjoy.

Maybe you just come across as more abrasive than you actually intend to and its just me. Oh well.

We actually do. I wouldn't like to trade him at all but we need to fill the holes @ the top 6....if we only could pack Scuderi to Toronto for a 7th round pick

We very well may. That'd be fine. He at least is worth what we are paying him. Maybe more. Sutter isn't going to be affordable enough. But if we have to trade one or even both then so be it. We have the defensive depth to make that happen. We also have enough center depth to do it too.

We are absolutely mourning the loss of Orpik for 5.2 mil, Nisk for even more, and Engelland for 2.9.

I doubt I'll be able to sleep again tonight; the amazing value those players would have brought us at that cost is going to cripple our entire season. Let me bow down to the exemplary model your team has shown for making it to the Stanley Cup the last 47 years.

edit: Dear God.. your (frank)ing horrendous raping of the English language... wow.

Kadri wont be going the other way unless you add a high pick or A prospect.

What is Sutter worth in a trade? Doubtful he is going to bring home more than a 3rd liner. I have seen people trying to package him with Martin but with Martins NTC it may be tough.

Could we pry Coyle from Minnesota with a package like Martin + Sutter?

How about a straight swap with LA - Martin for Richards, is Richards still a top 6 forward? Then we could trade Sutter for a third liner or pick + prospects.

Could we get one of Edmontons wonderkids? Sutter + Pouliot/Harrington for Yakupov?

Sutter + Fleury worth anything to a team in desperate need of a goalie like Winnipeg?

Its hard to remember last years playoffs. It gets confusing from year to year what exactly happened when your team has made it to the playoffs 20 of the last 24 years. Everything kinda gets blurred together...
