IMO My bottom 5 are:
30th Calgary
29th Buffalo
28th Winnipeg
27th Ottawa
26th Edmonton

with next bottom teams being Toronto, Carolina, Florida, Nashville and Arizona. I really don't see the Islanders finishing in the bottom 10 this year. Hope I'm wrong

- jzabawaj

Calgary will be in the 6-10 range, Hiller will win games on his own for them.
Edmonton will be in the same 6-10 range, they have 2 goalies that can play for the 1st time in a while.

And It's just an IMO but it is naive to think Buffalo in in the bottom 5. I put them in the same 6-10 range. Murray is building a competent roster that will surprise people.

Vancouver and SJ IMO are the two teams that will implode this year and be in the bottom 5.

I love how people don't even count Grigorenko any more... he is already a bust to 85% of people on this board I think.

If we can't get an elite player through the draft he better have one hell of a trade in mind otherwise I'd consider he's rebuild a failure. Reinhart's good but I wouldn't consider him elite.

He may be building a competent roster but without an elite guy we're looking at back to back 2nd round exits before we head back to square one.

Well, to be fair, he hasn't done anything to warrant confidence in him. Yes, Sabres Mgmt screwed him early on...but he was expected to be a top 5 pick his draft year so one would expect more. His skating is sub-par, his compete seems to be sub-par and the rumors are he expects things to be handed to him. So, those are pretty significant hurdles HE has to overcome. Outside of Juniors, what have you seen that would instill confidence in his success?
- IonSabres

The best thing for him is to ride out the yr in the AHL being the guy. Armia turned the corner IMO and from everything he's said gets what it takes to play the NA game. Biggest issue is does the organization feel Grigorenko is a center or better suited for the wing. Especially if they do tank and take McDavid. Kinda makes it tough to fit all those center's on the roster (which is a fantastic problem to have).

They will be no worse than what Calgary was last year. The quality of this roster is 2x's better than what it was last year and Murray isn't done yet.

He had 51 points in 75 games, why on Earth would they buy him out?

Adding Hiller was a good move in net for them. Can't see them being worse this year than last. 35 wins with sub par goaltending in 2013-14
- Sabresfan-365

I don't know who is going to score goals for them.... wow.

Jones, Hudler, stajan, Glencross, Backlund, Bollig...

They have a VERY good looking future line or two with Monahan, Gaudreau, Baertschi, Reinhart, and Bennett though

Hockey Buzzard Rule #77 If a player had a good year he must be included in all trade or buyout scenarios.

They lost a significant piece when they bought out Ehrhoff. We had Moulson for a long period of time, didn't change much.

The team had 21 wins. Even if they were that much better, that would equate to what 10-15 more wins? Would still make for a bottom 5 team. Can't understand why he would want this team to be gunning for 9th this early. He's got 3 1sts in a great draft. If he can get at least 1 pick in the top 7 he's getting a pretty special player.

Not a fan of Hiller, just don't think there any better this year. Edmonton I could see moving up a few spots. No way Buffalo moves out of the bottom 5, I just don't see the scoring. I can see Vacouver falling, but SJ is still a playoff team. Unless some trades happen.

Not elite already? Why didn't you say so!

Package Reinhart and our 3 2015 1st to the 2015 first over all.

Spot on...stay in the AHL and learn the game...same with Armia, while he played well in the playoffs, the regular season wasn't up to the standard one would expect from a projected sniper...so one more season to finish baking, win games and build that confidence.

No i meant I wouldn't consider his talent level to be on an elite level like a Tavares or Mackinnon or Stamkos.

2x's better? I like the moves TM made, but to say the roster is that much better? I guess I choose to see this team with my eys and not my heart.

They will score 200+ goals. IMO it's not that tough to see it. They brought in players with an attitude that has been lacking since 2007. This team will surprise people, I'm not saying making the playoffs surprise but they will be much better that what people(fans and media) give them. Again IMO fans are McEichel struck and can't see past it.
