We have NYI's pick for that one...

But seriously... us and NYI will both finish bottom 5 most likely.

Isles making a push to be decent next year with the Grabovski and Kulemin
I'm gonna say top 10 pick nonetheless

The only other info about it that I remember is that Armia scores on the right side of the ice.

Every year we see a team that goes from dud to playoff team. Whose to say this year it wont be the Islanders?

Looks like you guys got a little lively in here last night . Who knows what today will bring . My gut tells me Mr Murray is done for now except if someone blows his socks off with a deal . After listening to his latest clip someone posted , I don't understand where these Myers rumors keep coming from . Because it does not sound like he wants to trade him.
Where do folks get this desire to trade Hodgson ? He continually had line mates injured or traded last year , and he is still young . Also his transition to the wing seems to be going well. As for Stewart and Stafford . They are both in contract years . History shows they tend to step up their games in contract years . I think their trading value will be highest at the trade deadline if they have decent years.
I love Ott but I just don't see a spot for him now with the moves Murray made.

Now we need to get some great coaches and build Rochester up so they contend for the Calder cup this year.

Let's not forget that not only were the Islanders slated for a playoff spot last year, but they also had Vanek and AMac. Now they have an 85 year old Viz.. and a bunch of children. Chad Johnson is a pretty below average backup (Greiss, Talbot, Jones, Anderrsen, Neuvirth pretty great) and Halak which let's be honest, needs a defensive system in front of him...which he does not have in the slightest. It's no coincidence he was bad in Washington and good in St Louis. St Louis made a star out of Brian (frank)ing Elliott. Their forward group has gotten older but certainly not more talented. Kulemin? Please. Spare me. Grabs is good for Stafford-esque numbers. Oh no!

I'm not seeing a playoff team in that formula.

Good thing you know it all and I never was against moving Vanek, I said a mistake to move Miller. I knew all along they were picking Reinhart just like I was saying all along that Moulson was coming back.

So... why then was Miller atrocious in STL?
If they made Halak such a good goalie... how did Miller go from being excellent to pathetic? Was he tired from all the rubber he faced last year in Buffalo?

I agree with the bolded above.
Only reason I don't go for the whole list is NJ and PHX always seem to field at worst middling teams.

If there's one team I'd hate to be a fan of (obviously besides the Laffs) is NJ. They have no present and they have no future. They're going to be in purgatory for at least 5-6 more years. Woof.

I didn't pay attention at the end of the season, but was Halak that bad in Washington? He was pretty good for Montreal before he went to St. Louis. But they needed to make space, so he was the guy the moved.

I'm not crazy right??

I wouldn't write Halak off because of what he had in WSH...
when he was in MTL he carried the team through the playoffs with little help on the D end.
Now in saying that... the Isles really havn't signed a ton of talent... and they really havn't done much to improve the backend at all... where they need it most.
But... as another poster pointed out... one team always seems to go from zero to hero every year. Avs last year, Habs had a quick turn around, Philly had a quick on too... who's to say that NYI are not the next to do it?
For Buffalo's sake I hope they finish bottom 5 and that trade bites them in the @$$ !!

I think MTL gambled on paying the right goalie. Price wasn't exactly that great back in 2009 but they had invested a lot in him and probably forsaw (correctly) his future potential. MTL made the right move.

NJ needs to run a full gut and clean out their players for a ton of picks. That prospect pool is so sad.

He was great for one playoff run in MTL.
He was good for a few seasons in STL, had some pretty impressive numbers.
In WSH he was ok... but not great. He said something to the effect of the sheer number of trades he was in near the deadline shook him a bit.
Goalies are fragile beings at times...
But yes... MTL made the right choice getting Eller for him.

Miller started off great in St. Louis. Winning his first 7 out of 8.

Then he, along with the entire team went San Jose style collapse to end the regular season.

Miller actually faired better against the Hawks than Quick did, he just didn't get the goal support
