OV was his most common linemate last season, if I recall. - Feeling Glucky?
LOL not even close
Something clearly isn’t working on that top line. Marcus Johansson’s contribution to the cause is astonishingly understated (via zone entries and little else), and even Nick Backstrom has seen diminishing returns when playing as Ovi’s pivot. Incoming coach Barry Trotz will be judged first and foremost on how he deals with this problem. Playing Jay Beagle next to Ovi, switching his wing, or assigning him PK time will not be acceptable responses. |

after bolland turned down the 4.9 and went to FLA for 5.5
i hope that injury comes back to bite him, greedy C - big_dion
The hawks got rid of him for a reason. It was Versteeg all over again. His contributions will not be missed. Holland will fill his role just fine.
As for McClement. Everyone says he was a PK specialist. Really? a PK specialist on the worst PK team? Not sad to see him go. bye Sjostrom, Wallin, etc.
As for Kuli. the guy always had potential, but looked lost the minute Grabo was gone. He's not a leader, he needs someone to take control of the situation for him. He's part of the "culture problem" we have, of guys not pushing that extra mile to get the most out of themselves.
The core is fine. We had no problems scoring goals, and we still won't have problems scoring them. What we did, is we became tougher to play against. We're going to have grinders/scorers on our third and 4th lines. (at least it looks that way) and we're going to tighten up defensively (although we still have Carlyle, so who knows) |

No worries, I'd take Connor McDavid then - walshyleafsfan
So asinine to assume A) we are going to rank. B) even if we did tank, that we would any chance of getting McDavid.. He's got Ottawa written all over him. Let's just be positive going into next season instead of hoping to tank. It's bad sportsmanship and hurts the team. |

A signing like this begins long before they even starting writing that contract offer to Legs.
Also, I'd bet anyone that due to decline and/or injury, Grabbo never hits 50 points again. I'd be shocked if Kulemin ever gets over 20 goals again as well. - mcleafs

leafs bought out his best friend the day before his wedding after sigining a 5 year deal.
i called kulemin leaving the leafs that day, sure enough, off he goes.
randy basically removed our best 2 way line because he didnt like grabo.
he cant use the toaster
he cant call a time out.
but he can assure us no playoffs! |

It had nothing to do with that.. The Islanders foolishly overpaid Kulemin and the Leafs were actually smart in this case and see him for what he truly is. |

There isn't much risk in the #leafs Kontiola signing given that he came on a one-year contract. He drew serious interest from six NHL teams. |

Looking here, at least 25% of his even strength time was with OV, along with pretty much all of his power play time. |
