Nonis is on TSN saying he wants the team to compete harder. To me that translates to: our team is gonna suck, and we're going down to the lottery but at least we'll put up a fight. - ash146
Usually yes.
But it's the Leafs we're talking about here. They actually need to. Brian Murray yesterday said he team needs to "compete" next year, we've got the "harder" as well. We do (frank) all on the ice. Float around at centre and watch our D lose the puck
THEY PLAY TO MUCH NHL 14 DROP IN MODE |

Scoring wasnt our problem, it was our D, and clowns like Raymond not back checking, always leaning towards the O zone instead of trying to help get the (frank)ing puck...that and being soft (besides the 2 enforcers nobody would fight) |

gibbled
also: gibbled up
1. (adj.)
contorted, twisted
2. (adj.)
malfunctioning, broken
3. (v)
to break, maim, or otherwise impair
"My brother's foot was totally gibbled after he tripped in that gopher hole. Man, was that funny."
"Don't bother trying to fix that watch. It's been gibbled ever since my brother threw it in the lake."
"The VCR totally gibbled up the tape I put in. Now I'll have to YouTube Dancing With the Stars." - big_dion
So, the question is, does she gibble, or gobble..?

If he wants us to compete harder, i'm glad Gunnar and Kuli are gone. They don't know the meaning of compete. - walshyleafsfan
Remember Sid - on Tim&Sid - rant after the St.Louis loss? I still listen to that. funny yet harsh dose of reality. The side note about Gunnersson in that rant is deadly accurate. |

So, being a realist, you think that a team that missed the playoffs because of poor defensive play, lack of passion, and losing their #1 goalie to injury, that has now improved their defense, and added guys who play with lots of energy, is going to be worse than they where last year(3rd best in the east prior to losing Bernier)- to the point where they are guaranteed a lottery pick.
Yup. Realistic. - Feeling Glucky?

We just read about Giroux grabbing a cop's ass. Bozak "turns Kessel on" was bad timing |

Summarizing while listening:
-Didn't sound like keeping Franson is an option, but said the typical PR 'we'd like to keep him, asset, blah blah'.
-Like D core but not pairings, hence the moves and signings. Won't be same pairings as last year at all.
-Cannot run a 4th line for 3-4 mins anymore, must have talent and get it to 8-12 mins, huge change for them this season coming
-Frattin better scorer than D'Amigo, more NHL experience, better fit, sees both on same line for both teams (aka. 4th line is my guess)
-Hinted Leivo and Broll are targets to make Leafs, Carrick probably a year or two off |

I thought the same thing! Good to hear.
I think with the new pieces in it fits the ones we like here much better. I hope the youngins inprove and Dion can get some of his game back.
For all the heat he gets, he played way to much, out of his play style and he has Randy (frank)ing Carlye leading his patrol. |
