Of course, the problem with that, is that would guarantee them eating into LTIR right away, which would guarantee Kimmo's (and all other) bonuses would hit us hard the next season. - Tomahawk
This is where it helps to know the numbers. If we assume that Timonen's bonuses are easily obtained, and that he will make them. The Flyers would have to cut about 7M in salary off the team to ensure that they won't have a bonus overage due to Timonen's contract in 15/16. |

Sets up a likely Zepp-Stolarz pairing with the Phantoms ... Which is a lot of the letter Z, when you think about it.

For those hoping the Flyers may take a run at an rfa, they have no 2nd or 3rd round pick next season. - PhillySportsGuy
Grossmann to Columbus for our third rounder back then sign Johansen to a $5 million offer sheet! |

Yes I can read cap geek as well. But thx. - landros 2
Capgeek does not give the numbers that were posted there. As I've said multiple times. Capgeek does not give a true picture of a team's actual cap space. They select a likely roster and give an estimate of a team's cap picture for the season. They also don't keep the off season cap picture for teams. |

His max bonus is only $1.5m. It's not an Iginla-type situation. |

No chance, they only have like $20 million in cap space. |

The point is, nobody knows why he took what he took... It is purely speculation. - jak521
The point is it's pretty easy to make an educated guess. And when you look around the league, at what some other players got. And recognize what kind of player Ehrhoff is. And knowing the facts of where he played perviously, and the buyout he just received. It's pretty easy to come to the conclusion of why he took the deal he did. |

I am not implying you are in this category, but based on how bad a scenario some posters seem to think this team is in....Kimmo could be traded at the deadline to a contender for "his shot at a cup run" and we wont even see the bonus's! |

Orpik might be the worst. He's cooked. Bolland is a decent player when healthy. He's not worth the money, but he's still effective. Orpik may be a net negative. |

I am being reasonable. When one poster said that he thought it would be cool if we could have gotten Ehrhoff for that contract another poster basically told him that it wouldnt have been the same because he took that contract just to play for that team... Nobody knows why exactly he settled for what he settled for... All that we ALL know is that he took a good bit of a cut to play for Pitt... Hell, Pitt might have been the only team that contacted him for all we know. Who knows. - jak521
You honestly think that it's reasonable that with the shortage of available quality defenseman in the League, that a quality player like Ehrhoff was only contacted by one team? |

Well played sir, I did temporarily forget Orpik. Perhaps the Bolland trade weighs more for me because Vinny would have been a better option for them and at less. |

If Hexy can get some bargain basement deals for a couple solid forwards I'll be happy.
Kulemin still available, right ? |
