I think this place would need an exorcism if that happened. I have a twisted sense of humor, would be kind of funny to watch him back in orange and black. - flyer_nutter
He would never sign here for any amount of money, some hatreds run too deep. And let's face it, this one goes both ways. |

I really think he is waiting on Nashville. They wanted a 2nd line center. Didn't get one and now he actually got a little leverage in at least getting a workable asset back from Nashville. They paid the 2 million so now they are just waiting it out.
I was thinking how it seems Toronto missed out on the players they wanted like Bolland. How about a move like Vinny, Grossmann and a pick for Phaneuf and prospect. - J35Bacher
So the VL contract is holding up moves that can be made? While other players are signing, Hextall is burdened with a POS contract he has to figure out what to do with while the UFA parade goes by. |

If only the Flyers were as legit contenders as that team in black and gold that got bounced in the second round. - PLindbergh31
You could make a case the Flyers are closer with Ehrhoff than the Pens. Losing Niskanen and adding Ehrhoff is a slight upgrade.
Getting Ehrhoff and trading Grossmann, Streit or Amac is an enormous upgrade. From the start of December, both teams played about the same level of hockey for the rest of the season. |

What ever happened to Jack Skille ? As a 19 year old the sky was the limit.

I was gonna pose this question. Is Pittsburgh really that desirable? New GM, new coach, Fleury is a headcase, Neal is gone, etc. I'm not saying Philly is better or has better odds, but why the f would you take a 1-year deal there? Better off signing for a team like Chicago or Boston, not looking at cap-space though. |

Still both available. Only deal I wish the Flyers would have looked into is Dom Moore. Everything else has been ridiculous.
I excluded Ehrhoff because I assume he wasn't going to sign with the Flyers for anything close to what he got. - PhillySportsGuy
I get there are several people on this board who hate him but I thought Havlat for $1.5 was a steal |

Not in that way. We keep saying paitence right. I don't think they were ever really going after any of the high profile guys this year. I think they do get a little leverage if nashville wants some offense and center then Vinny can be that guy if they miss on their targets which has seemed to happen.
Names mentioned to Nashville
Stastny
Spezza
I guess they could go after Richards.
I am just trying to read the landscape on how things are going today |

Gilbert @ $2.8 x 2 was a steal, too. |

If they can just move Vinnie and maybe sign B Boyle and re-sign Emery, I'd be totally alright with it. |

Does it really matter? Anybody who watched the western conference playoffs, especially the Blackhawks Kings series, and thinks the Penguins or Flyers are even remotely close to being contenders is fooling themselves. The Flyers need impact players not the the 2nd level junk that's available in free agency these days and they can only be obtained thru the draft or thru trade. |

He was absolutely awful with the Sharks. They couldn't wait to get rid of him. Needs to be in top 6 to be effective and he's nowhere near a top 6 player anymore. |

So then that really leaves Nashville either moving on or maybe taking Vinny and dealing out something like Stalberg |
