So what do you prefer? We have zero veterans on the team in 3 years? That is not a realistic approach. If we have 70/30% young guys in 3 years we are doing things right. Moulson is a guy who wants to be here and has scored 30 plus goals. I love the move.

They already had acquired two very capable ones in Gionta and Gorges from an organization that has done some winning as of late. Also, if you're looking for veterans that know how to win, Moulson doesn't really fit that description. There's also the notion that I'd rather have someone that hasn't been here before.

Here we go, now people are going to beat the Moulson signing to death just like the buy out of Ehrhoff.

In a rebuild such as this, taking on additional contracts longer than 3 years should be looked at like cancer, especially when the player is over 30 years old. Granted, the Ehrhoff buyout made that impossible, but I felt that was taken care of with the Gorges trade.

Moulson is a perfect winger to help Reinhart and throw on his wing. I have no issue with it- would I have preferred three years? Yes absolutely. But an extra two years isn't a huge deal for me. It could be worse. It could be a 6-7 year deal. Matty wants to be here, we need good mentors for the kids.

You are playing the exact what If game, btw. We have no idea what the future holds. We have 3 first round picks next year.

I think what you are forgetting is we are just trying to get to the floor and are still $20MM under the cap. this 5MM will not hurt us in anyway, regardless of term. Plenty of wiggle room.

I don't understand why anyone here wants us to do the 8th place thing again, were they asleep for the last decade.

Right now, I still ses us drafting top 5 so I'm okay with the moves so far but I just can't understand why anyone would want us to go for mediocrity.
