Id be ok trading for a player or two.
- sbroads24

They'll have no choice. They would probably have to do it even if Ehrhoff was still on the roster. The Sabres are getting nothing more than table scraps in Free Agency.

Again, Darcy's biggest problem was that he was lobbying for his job yearly. So he took the NJD route of whatever it takes to sign the player, except with the Devils, Kovy was an actual star player. Both situations backfired

The contract and the fact that he signed a player for a decade was plain dumb. So is the NHL rules

- sbroads24

Not that I want to stick up for regier, even for a second, but pegula was likely behind that signing. Ya know what, screw it, he was the gm that signed off on it.

I wish there was a tangible realistic way of doing this because we won't know for at least three years down the road, but I would be willing bet just about anything that it will turn out not to have been an issue. It's a chicken little scenario.
- buffalofan19

I'm glad Murray is fiscally responsible. Down the road they'll be paying Reinhart & McEichel big $$$. Nothing like being strapped with the Ehrhoff recapture penalty at a time when they'll probably be spending to the cap. Chicken little or not, good riddance to the last of Darcy's mess. Get over it and move on.

Looking like this is Murray's mantra, also.

Now that would make a great t-shirt, with Murray's mug on it.

Murray does not seem enamored with too many of "darcys players". Wonder how deep these cuts are gonna go.

I don't think he looks at it that way. If they're any good he'll keep em. If not, they're gone.

He said he wants to bring up 2 or 3 prospects a year. So, yeah, plenty of cuts.

And if they want to be here, and they're good, they'll stay. And if they don't want to be here, good or bad, buh-bye.

So who comes up this year?

Reinhart (I know many on here think he should go back, but the kid's going to make the team)

Larsson

McCabe?

Pysyk, Larsson, and Delauriers stay, Risto and McCabe both spend time in both places IMO

I was against having whoever we draft make the team, but honestly 1982 wayne gretzky couldnt get this team much higher than 30th. If reinhart is really ready to play in the nhl, let him.

Why are people still talking about Ehrhoff, he's not Paul Coffey what is the big deal. Him and that horrible contract are gone and he didn't want to be here. Don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out.

Agreed. Crosby and Malkin both played on atrocious Penguins teams and didn't suffer for it, long term.

If he's ready, Reinhart plays.

As long as he is physically ready . After hearing him speak , I have no worries about mentally . Move him in with someone , like Crosby lived with Lemieux his first few years.

I'm glad Ehrhoff is gone I can't understand the big deal as to why people have such a problem with it. They all love Murray and what he is doing but don't trust him when it comes to Ehrhoff? he knows a bad deal when he see's it and Ehrhoff wanted out, it was a no brainer.

Ted Nolan bashing! The guy has never had a talented hockey player to work with besides Hasek.

You know, besides the damn goalie, i'd like to see what Ted could do with some talent. An actual, honest-to-God first line, etc.

He doesn't even watch film!! He doesn't believe in line matching?!?! Come on
