Strange my source told me the best offer was from the Utopian Make-Believers, it not only included all their unicorns and ponies, but every rainbow that appears in the next five years.

Nonetheless, Murray is mulling it over, I heard he might even swallow his pride, and ask for SFO's opinion on the offer.

Screw them, they effed us last time we tried to trade Ott. we had a deal where Ott was not going to St Louis, and it all fell part.

For sure, some folks don't get the humor but I have watched it a hundred times and still laugh out loud (LOL) at some parts.
I was at a wedding a few weeks back and I said to my wife, "Look at that guy over, there he looks just like Denver Tank Murdoch"...she agreed.

How is Holmgren still employed by the Flyers? He screwed that team. Terrible contracts, They are in cap hell. May have to re-build that team... again.

They'll want actual assets back for them as opposed to giving us something for taking on the contract or trading them on the cheap, wouldn't rule out Gonchar as a possibility.

I would too but I'm hesitant about the contract. He's 34, and has 4 years left on his deal

none of the kids are going to get paid til then anyhow

if that is your core, your fine taking on the deal for 4 years and honestly he is a great guy to have on the team with kids

trust me if you add him, the aftertaste from watching roy, leino, and tinkle boy head to the bars will be out of your mouth

That's not what I've heard from some lightning fans, apparently he wasn't the top notch leader he was made out to be. Supposedly had plenty of issues with teammates and coaching staff.

I know that none of the younger players will be paid till then but I really don't want them giving him an entitled roster spot because of his contract especially if he takes a sharp decline (i mean a sharp decline from is already sharp decline).

I keep hearing how Murray is willing to take on a not-so-cap friendly contract if it comes with a nice asset along with it (i.e. a first or 2nd rounder). However, has anybody heard if a GM is willing to take him up on that offer, or even said that it's an intriguing idea?

Buffalo really only has the NYI to compete with to get cap. Philly, Chicago and Boston are cap strapped. They may not have a choice.

IMO, NYI are going to "overpay" to get a player off of one of those teams.

That's not the only way to get cap compliant, though. You can buy them out for a lesser cap hit, or trade someone else. I'm not so sure GM's will be thinking that giving up a high draft pick is worth losing an unfriendly contract.

I wondered why no one picked him up. If anything, a playoff team could have used him on the PK. Regardless, I hope he learned something from it.
