Lot of high scoring youngins that will be able to learn to adapt with the help of the players we got today. Big difference from the past.

I don't think he doubts the team will be better, that's just inevitable, but it's a lot of ground to make up from where were last year.

15 more wins this year still puts us bottom 5, it's nothing to be ashamed of since it's a dramatic improvement and shows that like you said the young players are playing well with the aid of the vets but in the end they just lack the skill level to go beyond that. We'll still lose plenty of games to contending teams with more to play for than us.

The only move I don't like is the McCormick deal. It's not even McCormick, it's that it's 3 years. We have enough 4th liners that will be ready to go by the time that deal is up....but very minor issue I suppose. I just don't understand it, I guess.

The term is an issue with the deal. I don't mind have him around for next season or maybe even the one after that. But 3 seasons from now he might be an issue.

It is sad to say the least at how far the Islanders have fallen. I hated and envied them when they ruled the NHL with the likes of Trottier, Gilles, Nytrom, Goring, Potvin and Bossy just off the top of my head. When the best you can do on opening day is 3 guys who are closer to playing in the AHL then most other teams press box inhabitants has to be maddening. When you compare their young guys with ours you would think decent players would want to go there. Finding someone who wants to play alongside John Tavares shouldn't be that hard. It makes you wonder if any player with a brain and options wants nothing to do with Snow for some reason (as in no faith that he is capable of building a winner). Kind of like it was here recently with Darcy in charge and gives me hope that Tim Murray may actually have the respect and confidence of the kind of players you need to win.

It would be nice to see a chart of every player we traded in the past season, and the return. Then how we did with our picks and signings. I guess the madness is not over and deals are still being made.

No, you wanted scrubs because you think they will tank. I've been saying it over and over they will not do that, you just have this mind set to get McDavid and can't let it go. They didn't sign old vets, they signed good players that can help this along.
