Same here. I think we need more toughness on the 4th line. |

A guy on Twitter said it perfectly , IMO .
A top 4 defender , a bottom 6 big gritty body , and a back up goalie . |

Although i am almost certain we won't do this just for funs sake hear me out.
we need a top 4 d and there just so happens to be a team within our own division with plenty of em, but also has major cap issues. that team is boston, and it just so happens that torey krug is an RFA this year. he's likely due for a significant raise (probably in the 4 mil range) and boston may not be able to pay it given their other needs. it may be a dying tactic but what if we were to offer sheet Torey Krug, a young, highly skilled and still improving defensemen at something like 5 years at 4.5 mil per? we wouldn't have to give up too much (although I'm not very knowledgeable about RFA rules). even if boston matched it we would still succeed in a way cause were screwing their chances of resigning other key RFA's like riley smith and UFA's like jerome iginla.
Again i don't expect us to do this at all, but it certainly would make for an interesting situation don't you think? |

If we do, I think we have to give them a 1st and and 3rd in 2015 Draft!

Maybe a two year stop gap while DeAngelo gets ready for the club. - tpd11
You can expect DeAngelo will take longer than 2 years. He could accelerate his curve but he needs to get bigger b/4 he comes close to sniffing NHL time

Rags don't have much choice in who they can bring back. They are in cap hell with alot of RFA's to re-sign. They will go bargain hunting to fill out their roster

I'dd rather have Boyle than Moore... Bigger, more physical, great PK guy, and great on faceoffs. Might be cheaper too. |

Highly doubtful that Boyle comes cheaper than Moore. Someone is going to pony up for Boyle b/c he had a good playoff run and of course his huge size.
I have heard others (besides Ek) mention that we are interested in Legwand so between him and Moore are the 2 safest bets IMO. I'm actually a bit more intrigued by Legwand but they are very similar so all in all I don't have much of a preference either way

Agreed. If Koekk's isn't here next season you can damn near book he will be here the following year. The only caveat being injuries

Hopefully but he's had a couple setbacks, Brewer will be gone next year and Koekoek, Sustr will be around so even if it's a three year stop gap. How much weight on his frame 20-25 lbs. with the right training he could do a good portion in two years three yes. Depends on him now |

Koekoek is a left handed D and DeAngelo a right and are both in the plans. It was talk of a Boyle stop gap and a replacement right side. |

Korobov is a pleasant surprise, but I'm pretty sure he's headed back to the KHL. |

Judging by the advanced stats , traditional stats , our needs and cap space, I believe that Niskanen is our top target! He is EVERYTHING we want and need. |

@aaronward_nhl: Appears to be 5-6 teams expressing interest in Radim Vrbata. Teams include TB,MTL,SJ and BOS. #TSN |

I want him on the team, I just don't want him for 6+ million and for 6-7 years. - norbs
It would be about 6 for 6! personally I'd be content with this:
The RFA's are based on the qualifying offer system on capgeek.
Drouin-3.225 Stamkos-7.5 Connolly .851
Palat-3.334 Filppula-5 Callahan-5.8
Killorn-2.55 Johnson-3.334 Kucherov-.9
Brown-.95 Paquette-.65 Panik-.75
34.844
Hedman-4 Sustr-.874
Carle-5.5 Garrison-4.6
Brewer-3.875 Gudas-.993
Barberio-.874
20.716
Bishop-2.3
???????-???
Other
Buyout 1.167
LTIR 3.607
Retained 1.6
8.674
Grand total
64.244
At this point I would think a good back-up like Montoya or Griess and possibly a bit of muscle on the fourth line/scratch is all we SHOULD do, but WTF do I know eh? |

If sustr can develope nicely then I like it . And agree . Don't touch he top 6 it's set . 3rd line IMO is set. 4th line get some strong guy who can keep up . Paquettes kinda slow , panik is fast . How is that going to work ?
