Michigan had an off year and a lot of injuries . Please don't try and twist your facts so you have another reason to bag on the Sabres . Compher is a different player than Kennedy and you still want to compare them . Also NCAA is sending far more players to the NHL now then they were in 2007 . I Liked Sekera here . Canes win the trade for now . Let's revisit the trade in 4 years to determine the final winner.

In what ass backwards universe does Mike Weber help a team, he'd be in the press box on that team.

I'd point out that Stewart and Stafford don't carry nearly enough value, but that's moot since Ottawa is trying to shed salary and get assets they can retain long term. Staff and Stew are neither as they both make north of 4 mil and are UFA's next year.

If Moulson is the best FA we're signing it doesn't matter, we'll be at or near the bottom.

3 years later those 2 have rings, and Brayden Schenn and Sean Couterier have done nothing but underachieve

The Nash and Bobrovsky trade was the one that got me into the whole don't judge a trade right a way. I thought columbus were the joke of the league at the time. Jokes been on me for the better part of 2 years now

You should do the same , The point being made was the trade can not be given a final grade yet as the key piece on the Buffalo side of the trade is not in the NHL yet. You then took it to a whole other level of absurd. No one was bashing Sekera . Glad he had a great year at Carolina . He was one my favorite players here . But I would do the trade again to just for future potential of Compher. Good hockey trade for both sides . Why do sides have to win or lose. Maybe it becomes a Win - Win.

I think they expected too much out of that young group of players. I also think those trades were knee jerk reactions. IMO, they were stupid for trading Richards because him and Laviolette didn't get along. They should have gotten rid of the coach. Not the player.

Yea that's where we differ, I don't think either player really helps them. I think with Gryba coming back, Weber sits most games.

The trade basically becomes stafford/stewart for Spezza. I get the thinking, but I can't imagine he'd say yes to that kind of deal.
