Murray said Reinhart is more mature than most 18 year olds, he doesn't get rattled

Murray CONTINUES to say how Reinhart plays up in big games and is older than his age...

I think he stays here the whole year unless he pulls a yakupov.

I don't get it?

just that they have drafted so many top 6 type guys and none have really panned out to be absolute superstars?

Just being picky, but I think you swap Stewart and Hodgson. I'm thinking we get another offensive free agent as well.

He can only list 10 teams he won't go to. It's been said that the list he submitted did not have Buffalo on it.

What was it, Hamilton saying Reinhart 1C, Girgensons 2C and Ennis 3C?

Damnit Paul..

- TheSabresTaco

I could live with;

1. Ennis
2. Girgensons
3. Reinhart
4. Foligno

...Down the middle next season.

IMO, you gotta ease Reinhart into the mix (if he's here). But Reinhart plays a two-way game, so he can start out as role-player/2nd unit PP guy.

I thought Murray seemed to imply that Reinhart was going to be on the club with his statement that he had dominated juniors and had nothing left to prove there

And it shouldn't, I doubt very much that we would be interested and Spezza knows that.

I kinda hope they put Reinhart on the wing for a small period of time just to acclimate himself to the speed of the game first. Let him get up to speed there, then move him to the middle.

Didn't they play Grigorenko on the wing in Rochester this year???

He'll be here if he earns it, he just meant out of all his guys he has the highest chance of being here.

After he was finally able to play there this year, I believe so.

Per Murray "I could have traded him, but the recapture penalty of he retired makes the contract untradeable"

If he we're to retire in 6 years, and we are contenders and we get nailed with a 10mil cap penalty??? That's worth moving Ehrhoff for a pick and prospect now? Sorry man I think your way off on this one. He's thinking long term, we have been blasting this organization for being short sighted for so long

- sbroads24

100% this!!!

Think of the backlash in 6 years when were about to win a cup and have to trade away $10million in salary. They would be calling for murrays heads for not buying him out.

Smart move.

Exactly this. I don't want any pressure on him this year because it's unwarranted. A portion of the fan base is going to expect him to be an immediate saviour and that is the last thing he should be.

I'm leaning more and more to sending him down.

I'm on this site almost daily and have never even thought about posting. I couldn't help myself today so I made an account just to say this. I don't see how you can think what Tim Murray did by buying out Ehrhoff was the wrong decision. It may upset people but, that is on an emotional level. Murray is a professional GM he can not use emotion to make decision. He has said over and over its not about now its about the future. And now people are complaining because he is making decisions to protect the Sabres future. We are going to be a very good if not great hockey team in 3-4 years. Why the hell would you mortgage our future salary cap for a 31 year old player. He'll be 35 by the time were contending and at the point we can pick up an equivalent free agent for that same 4 mil cap hit.
Sorry to rant on you guys with my first post but please take the emotion out of it. Ehrhoff's is a very good 2-3 d, maybe even the best d this team has (had) but, the possible 1st round pick we could have got for him was not worth the future trouble it could have brought to our salary cap.

I don't know that he needs to be sent down, and based on Murray's interview a little while ago, they don't think he'd benefit from being sent down.

But people need to make sure that their expectations aren't out of line. Pittsburgh missed the playoffs during Crosby's first year. So there's no reason to think that Reinhart is going to come in and make this team a ton better right off the bat.

There are still some pieces that we're waiting on to develop before we'll legitimately become a playoff team again.

he helps get them to the cap floor
plays center so they can take their time with the rookie

if moved at the deadline he should fetch more then staff or stewart

murray was on the radio this weekend that the sens would prefer to get 2 players that can help them now

I'd make the call
