I'm hoping they don't put the C on anyone at this point. Just give out some As to start the season. Pick someone later on. Make someone prove that they really deserve it and want it. This is a team that's completely in flux right now. It would do more harm than good to name a captain just to have one.

That's my hope. I'm thinking we pick up 4 guys in FA. Orpik is no godsend but he's of great age/buffalo ties (per Murray)/leader and cheap. 4 years or less I'd hope for good money, no reason to say no. Maybe it will make Mike Weber expendable, and I'm pretty certain Orpik>Weber.

This I understand and believe to be true. But overachievement is not the word I would use. He had an entire segment about how he wasn't targeting bottom 6 players in the draft. He was targeting boom or bust top sixers. If they all live up to their potential, they will all be top six players. Was the idea portrayed.

I'll be watching Tampa with interest. I think Yzerman likes his top line and may go after Statsny cause really, Tyler Johnson as your 2C is not what you want.
