After Kesler brought what he did, James Neal brought what he did, what does that make Jason Spezza worth with only one year and 7 million left remaining on his contract? With the salary cap only going up to 69 million, certainly doesn't help his trade value either unless Ottawa is willing to keep a large portion of his salary on their books. So what is he worth?

yeah, we've all no doubt said some dumb poop, and proposed ridiculous trades......but that was the worst one i've seen. it made some of those cloutier proposals look good.

What is unfortunate with this impasse with the Blues is that Berglund is a nice piece. Good size, right age, plays good two way game. Add in a reasonable second piece and you could probably have found the basis for a good deal.

I wanted to talk about the potential trade and all I heard was how Berglund is garbage, Cole is garbage yada yada. Then I get told that its gonna take Schwartz, Rattie/Jaskin, and our first as starters for a trade. I made what I thought to be valid points about how Spezza demanding a trade put Murray at a disadvantage. Then Im told I don't know what I'm talking about, he didnt ask to be traded. That was an actual statement, he DIDN"T ask for a trade. Then when I say there is no way schwartz or Tarasenko are going the other way people start calling me an idioit. So yeah, I'm being a pest. I was also right for what its worth...

Well, I'm not telling you that you're an idiot for that, but I'm telling you we don't need more 2nd and 3rd line forwards.

Maybe that will get it done for someone, but if we are going to settle for a third liner, we'd prefer it wasn't one coming off a major injury.

Until spezza either gets traded or not, you aren't right about anything.

And for the record, I agree the value for spezza is probably not there. That doesn't mean we should want to trade him for another team's expendable bits and pieces.
