An already suspect defensive depth just got more suspect. Oduya traded out means Leddy to top 4...Hawks will be badly exposed. - kwolf68
Or on the other hand, as happens as often, we see how players given more opportunity take advantage and flourish.
Rosival's hurdle is only 4 inches taller than Zues's. And lets not forget, you have Q's other trusted favoirite Brookbank coming back in his hybrid role.
Suspect? Help me with a measuring stick for adequate depth? |

Hey TG!
Have no problem with Brookbank as a 3rd pairing guy. He was pretty steady in that role last season.
He took a step fwd while Rozy took two back.
With the cap going down, maybe Q doesn't have the luxury of playing some of his guys and some of the RFD or press box crew are given a bigger opportunity (little more leash). |

I never said that. All I was eluding too was someone taking the fall. So they put in on the new guy. - EKolb13

In 2012-2013? No, Stephane Waite was the goalie coach. He left to go to the Habs. |

I think so. However, it's easy to just put all the blame on the new guy. |

No doubt, I agree regarding utilizing players. I just believe ALL coaches have to do that each year, even if in bits and pieces.
Brookbank, no thanks, I see him more like I saw Zues, that is as the extra guy spotting guys here and there. But asking him to do it day in and day out, don't think that is a smart bet. But that is just my opinion. So I don't mind him on the team, just not in a featured role. |

And here's the narrative we feared:
Stan Bowman: "We were one shot away from being in the Final this year. We don't need to make big changes." |
